gjm 3258 Report post Posted May 31, 2015 Is this a 'thing'? Has anyone done it? The steering wheel in our E46 is looking a little worn. I don't think it is necessarily the common issue due to the driver wearing rings... Just worn. Is it possible to refinish it, preferably as a DIY? Guest MP0wer Report post Posted May 31, 2015 Take a scrubbing dishwashing thinggy, not the metal ones, the hard fiber ones, use lots of soap and scrum the crap out of the wheel, rub some good cloth washing agent and let it dry and then scrub it some more and then take a damn rag and wipe it clean, should be a 30 min task every few months, keep the wheel soft and brings back the leather feel instead of that shine slippery feel you have over time.
