SmithyInWelly 212 Report post Posted March 22, 2016 I've decided to keep an eye out for one of these to replace my 525i (which whilst doing the job has gotten a little boring), of course it's in Auckland but I'll be keeping an eye on it for sure; NZ new, seemingly good service history though seriously lacking some photos - especially of the panel damage which I can't even make out. Bit of a bugger it's an auction (and I'm impatient lol). http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=1055299577
allan 295 Report post Posted March 22, 2016 If you can run the vin number and decode it to see what options it has most of the 325ti should be well kitted. If you can find a M sport one look heaps better than the standard. That is a gift at that price would have though double that.
KwS 2421 Report post Posted March 22, 2016 Still plenty of time for the price to increase, and the seller sounds like bit of a prick.

SmithyInWelly 212 Report post Posted March 22, 2016 Yeah, sport is definitely better though not sure I'll be able to be too picky... just have to wait for the right car... knowing me I'll end up getting something completely different.

Olaf 3308 Report post Posted March 22, 2016 c'mon you guys, take the hint. Ray makes these to order! I love the epic fail of this auction - forget the Olaf 'rules of how to win at TradeMe'. Prospective buyer: "Do you have any more photo's? (never mind the unnecessary apostrophe - this guy wants to see more skin before he gets into bed) Vendor GOLD answer: a few but they are basically the same. A 325ti is a 325ti (that's right, I'm too lazy to actually help the sale, and I don't care if I'm sounding a little bit evasive/dodgy!) let's extrapolate that. "oh, I need some oil. Hmmm - well, oil is oil, here's some 30/40 from 1970". "what's that mister garage, I need some brake pads? Sure, brakes are brakes". "oh, you want pictures to get a better idea of condition? who cares about condition, you'll buy this like a blind man. come to Bruce's car sales, my cars are just cars as you'd expect". I won't go on...
SmithyInWelly 212 Report post Posted March 22, 2016 Yeah Olaf, it's a fail all around sadly - as it could be a good buy (and at good $$$$). I really should do the training guide for TM sales which I've pondered doing before (and yes, I'm actually an L&D guy lol). Oh well... next...
Olaf 3308 Report post Posted March 22, 2016 don't give up CJ, talk to Ray! He'll build you one to order, or bring your own tired 316Ti along and blammo, 325/330Ti!
KwS 2421 Report post Posted March 22, 2016 damn a manual 330ti motorsport would be cool, wouldnt it?
Olaf 3308 Report post Posted March 22, 2016 I'm rather taken with that idea.
SmithyInWelly 212 Report post Posted March 28, 2016 This thing is still at $3k with a week to go, will invariably go up closer to the end... how close is Castor Bay to civilisation - or at least somewhere I could get it checked out prior to throwing in a bid? (assuming the owner plays ball of course lol). Any suggestions of a garage that'd be useful?
allan 295 Report post Posted March 29, 2016 They perform well even with the 2.5 ltr in them as well not to heavy on the pocket as far as gas goes.
Olaf 3308 Report post Posted April 4, 2016 so it closed at $5,150. Bruce wasn't kidding; some of his photos were the same, just cropped! I guess he won at TM #8 ) Car looked tidy, and likely honest enough.
SmithyInWelly 212 Report post Posted April 4, 2016 Yeah - the auction finished at midnight on a Sunday which was less than convenient... I put in an auto bid to $4700 when I went to bed around ten and the bidding was mid three's tho didn't expect to get it... shame, would have been ideal for what I/we need.
