BM WORLD 1283 Report post Posted December 14, 2016 just been working on this car for the last 3 days brought a sleightly damaged 2002 E46 316ti a few months back real grotty car , damaged front , easy to repair job. was originally just going to fix and sell on but then decided since I don't have a track car anymore thought I would make one up have the option of a S54 m3 engine to go in it but have decided to use the more plentiful cheaper and lighter m54b30 engine with a 5spd zf box and a brand new stage 2 supercharger kit I had brought a while back off a customer who never fitted it. have made a few videos of the progress if you are real bored of watching shortland street etc some pics here too . BatMansWilly 74 Report post Posted December 16, 2016 Nice project keep the videos coming. What power are you looking to get of it with the supercharger?
Olaf 3317 Report post Posted December 16, 2016 +1. excellent project Brent, and the vidjos are a wealth of info. Keep it up! I reckon one of these would be enough to keep me entertained on the track for years, never mind the supercharger. Wouldn't claim to have the talent for that much power #; )

allan 295 Report post Posted December 16, 2016 Needed to run an extra wire from the alternator to the cluster when i did the conversion on mine. The n42 wiring only had the 0ne blue wire and the charge light would not go out.So i ran another a pale green with blue trace is what the wiring diagrams showed. This was for 2002 nz new 316 compact with a N42 b18 engine. The wiring for the a/c compressor I found was not long enough to reach the new position. The n42,46 is on the left side of the motor while on the right for the M54. By stripping the wiring back as far as i could and re-routing it..It still needed to be lengthened. That is interesting to know about the rear subframe / body issues. Will you be trying for a coupe look since you don't like the compact style?
