Driftit 2125 Report post Posted January 22 There are not a lot of well sorted ones worth a premium. Many have fallen into that typical Kiwi 3rd/4th owner neglect stage like all BMW's reach. I play a game with AMG's. How many owners has it had going by it's visual condition and the type of driver. Guessed 10 as a joke for a absolutely clapped E55 AMG the other day. I was wrong. It was 14 owners... 1

Doesn't even mention the brakes. Just as shabby as my manual one.

I was tempted to go have a poke around this weekend, and then come up with an argument for the missus about why 4 is the right number of cars. Looked like a good bargain, the brakes on mine cost over 50% of the asking price of that....
BreakMyWindow 1892 Report post Posted January 24 In terms of goodies just a ticky top end and in desperate need of a clean up and service. Has new RE003’s on it. Hopefully will visit Hampton Downs with in about a month.
Driftit 2125 Report post Posted January 26 Nice one. Thought about getting better brakes for mine after the track day last week. Might start with just pads and new fluid. Make sure you chase what ever the recommended tyre pressure is for those RE003s. Seen them cook and start destroying the outter edges at the track. Danch 37 Report post Posted January 31 Just a random question, there was a silver 130i with manual box on sale in Auckland with lots of mods on sale years ago. I think the car never got sold. Is the owner here? Just curious whether you sold the car eventually.

Driftit 2125 Report post Posted February 14 Half the dash is missing. It has broken plastic behind the rear right wheel. A broken quarter window. Auction writing on the windscreen. Def stolen and recovered or attempted to steal it.
TPO130i 8 Report post Posted February 16 Evening people. I changed out my leaking steering rack a few weeks ago. Since then, neither the horn or the paddle shifts are working. No dash errors so I’m thinking I may have dislodged an earth wire somewhere. Any thoughts anyone? Cheers.
Driftit 2125 Report post Posted February 16 Have you checked all the fuses? The only grounds around there are the main engine to body grounds. There would be much more wrong if they were disconnected. I can't think of anything that would have that effect in the area you were working on. TPO130i 8 Report post Posted February 17 When getting the rack out, the steering column seemed to come out a long way so thought maybe I’d dislodged an earth under the dash somewhere. Fuse check will happen tomorrow. They’re such a bugger to get at…..
BreakMyWindow 1892 Report post Posted yesterday at 07:48 PM Anyone have an old idrive screen unit they want to get rid of? Doesn’t have to be working, I only need the front part of the lcd casing in good condition, which attaches to the motor drive mechanism to resurrect my one again.

Very elusive to my searching fingers unless I'm getting something completely wrong. It might turn out I'll have to check every single one of those fuses that are in such a mongrel place.... The junction box (fuse box behind glovebox) changes between prefacelift and facelift variants. A white plastic junction box is prefacelift while the gray is facelift. Assuming your vehicle is prefacelift (2006) this should be relevant for your vehicle: A4010a is the JBE (junction box electronics) with two large plugs on the front, at the bottom of the junction box. Given the symptoms I'd suggest ensuring the plugs on both the car and steering-wheel side of the clock spring (A72 steering column switch center) are seated fully and check continuity across the clock spring.

Where can I find detailed diagrams like these? I would like to add cruise control to a 130i so I want to find the wires that might make that happen.
