Brianr70 83 Report post Posted January 28, 2021 (edited) Update Got 2nd pump from Hellbm, fitted today but alas the abs Christmas tree remains. But now have DSC faults codes appearing along with brake pad warning - checked pads all ok. DSC hydraulic valve unit adjustment DSC unit valves Also keep getting tyre pressure warning but no run flats fitted. Any advise /insights would be appreciated. 🤔🤔 Edited January 28, 2021 by Brianr70
qube 3570 Report post Posted January 28, 2021 Wheel speed sensor? tyre pressure warning you should be able to turn it off or run the recalibration through iDrive to tell the computer that the pressure is set correctly.
Brianr70 83 Report post Posted January 28, 2021 Discovered the tyre pressure fix. Does the speed sensor thing tied up the reluctor known issue?
HELLBM 1557 Report post Posted January 28, 2021 Code it. Bleed with a decent scanner Calibrate it And replace brake pad wear sensors if you haven't already done so. Activate return pump remotely with scanner to confirm all is working as it should.
Brianr70 83 Report post Posted January 28, 2021 Coding was done . Brake sensors checked ok according to mechanic. But might worth doing anyway

No, that's not the case. From the first post in the link I provided... Quote If your rings are bad enough, they may also throw a 'Wheel speed sensor rear extrapolation' error. That's a lot of "if" and "may". Regardless, it's still the first thing to check, I'm assuming you know this though so your comments are confusing. Regardless, it's still the first thing to check, I'm assuming you know this though so your comments are confusing. He or his Mechanic needs to calibrate the DSC assuming the 2 faults listed are the only ones beside brake pad wear sensor or sensors. If the sensors need doing they will be the only faults remaining. Very rarely we have encountered the mentioned reductor fault due to the fact that we don`t have to deal with the rust issue like others. I mentioned that issue to point out the fact that it will throw a specific fault code assuming the sensors are ok. CALIBRATE the DSC including steering angle and all will be fine.
Jacko 2156 Report post Posted January 28, 2021 ^ Reluctor faults do seem to be a UK thing, along with seized calipers, the underside of their cars look like the innards of shipwrecks.
M3AN 4016 Report post Posted January 28, 2021 I agree that rust is less likely to be a problem here but that thread and the US equivalent also confirm that gunk build-up can cause the issue and there are a multitude of reports that there's no specific ring code thrown in a lot of cases. But I'll defer to your expertise on what's required after replacing the ABS pump, I've never done that. It's just that replacing the pump isn't where I would have recommended starting, you can check the rings for free after all.
promo 93 Report post Posted January 28, 2021 Come see me. think I scanned it for you last year and said what was needed. A good mechanic should know how to bring up live data on their scan tool and check sensors. if you're out of luck ping me a message, definitely can resolve your issue with my tools and coding software. I work with a lot of workshops around wellington programing modules, ecu cloning, immo deletes etc.

Just one, one side per axle. Did the old one trigger? It might be reusable.

Jadon 4 Report post Posted July 9 Hi, I’m hoping someone will see this as it’s an old thread. I have the same issues, same part number. I bought an identical replacement part and have been told it’s not compatible when calibrating it. Then old part was then refitted and now also says incompatible. I assumed it was the incorrect part that had had some coding magic done to it to make it work but from reading this it is the correct part. @promo I see that you helped resolve the issue. How was the issue solved in the end? I’m terribly confused. My car is same build month as the car in this forum. Please help, I’ve been struggling to fix this for a couple months now On 12/1/2020 at 11:37 AM, Brianr70 said: On the lookout for a replacement ABS pump for my 130i - part # 3451 6778484 01 VIN WBAUD52020JM27512 if anyone know can supply one or point me in the direction of one would be much appreciated 😊 Thanks
