boyish 40 Report post Posted October 8, 2021 Currently on factory specs 275/40/20 9.5x20 et45 & 315/35/20 10.5x20 et30. Have been thinking of running a squared setup with 315’s/10.5’s all round. Anyone know of issues this may cause? I have read on other forums that it can lead to extra effort in turns, oversteer, accelerated wear on wheel bearings, decreased braking & hydroplaning? Any advice is appreciated.

dirtydoogle 383 Report post Posted October 9, 2021 Biggest difference will be increased front tyre wear. And likely clearance issue
BreakMyWindow 1874 Report post Posted October 26, 2021 You could try swapping the wheels front to back to get an idea if there are issues.
GorGasm 563 Report post Posted October 26, 2021 Tracking and hydroplaning would be my biggest concerns, plus you save a few bucks buying the smaller front tyres.
Sammo 2544 Report post Posted October 26, 2021 I changed to square 235/40/18 on 8.5J on my E46 and prefer it (although it did have undersized tyres on when I got it - E82 sizes). I find it feels a little livelier in the rear (far less understeer) but for day to day driving, it is susceptible to tramlining more.
