BMTHUG 1064 Report post Posted February 1 (edited) As some of you know I have purchased @Andrewold cabby. I am completely inlove with it. I have the vert tech 1 skirts and rear boot spoiler to complete it but I have spent the last couple of days doing some maintenance as it has been in storage. Changed the timing belt, waterpump, thermostat, engine oil,oil filter, air filter, fuel filter, set the valve clearances and gave it a much needed tune up. Putting in a 3.73 lsd diff and new control arms, inner rack ends, tie rod ends and rear control arm bushings in tomorrow. I plan to paint it very soon and put my 3 piece 16 inch wheels on it. Here are some pics, absolutely in love. Will also be putting the factory tech 1 wheel in it and selling the immaculate tech 2 steering wheel. BMTHUG 1064 Report post Posted February 5 Been busy with this thing. Installed a new pioneer bluetooth headunit, shadowlined the chrome window trims, installed new control arms, poly superpro control arm bushings, ultra racing front sway bar, sway bar links, miro 16x7.5 et15 front wheels and 16x9 et 15 rear wheels, brand new Hella fog lamp assemblies and some Nankang NS2 tyres. She is riding beautifully now. Front end is done, next will be 3.73 lsd diff, rear poly trailing arm bushings and subframe mounts, rear Ultra Racing sway bar and brand new axle shafts. Then onto the exhaust. A couple of coby resonators in place of the factory resonator box and some BTB headers.
BMTHUG 1064 Report post Posted February 6 Got a much needed clean today. I am very happy with how the car looks for now. Will be trying to paint and put on the skirts next week as well as the tech 1 rear wing. But for now, here she is in all her Delphin glory 🥰 so inlove with how it drives now too. Odo stopped working yesterday so ordered some gears from Garagistic. Will fit them as soon as they come.

Eagle 1669 Report post Posted February 7 Doing toe\camber adjusters? Looks like it could use them

The old man's one is done already. Client's one has bags so when it's aired out it squats into negative camber
BMTHUG 1064 Report post Posted February 9 I've been dailying this to work since I got it and sorted out all the maintenance and pre-maintenance items and it has been the most joyful experience. My f30 has been left sitting at home lately but got the opportunity to use it yesterday evening to Orewa to go to the beach with my fiancé and my daughter. I love both cars for different reasons but the e30 reigns supreme in my heart always
BMTHUG 1064 Report post Posted February 10 Took my better half to the airport yesterday in the vert. Also went to butterfly creek beforehand with the little one. We had a whole day of driving with the top down. Had my eldest daughter smiling with glee the whole time. It was absolutely priceless. Two more months and then I'm off to the UK to join the future wife for our wedding there in May.

BMTHUG 1064 Report post Posted February 12 Finally got around to swapping the 3.73 lsd diff I had waiting for this car. What a noticeable difference with the ratio change. It is a lot more lively now. The diff has barely done 1000ks since a rebuild but has been in storage for 5 years or so. I treated it to some Penrite differential oil for LSD diffs and gosh it makes it wonderful to drive.
BMTHUG 1064 Report post Posted February 17 I am now true to my username with the car. (PLATE) but also I upgraded the interior to a set I had reupholstered about 5 yeara ago. I love the contrast between the dark exterior and bright interior. It looks different in different lighting but it is blood red with black stitching.

Will probably use that plate for our tech 1 coupe shop build we doing next! Thanks bro! Yeah I think it looks pretty cool too. The car is getting a full respray in a few weeks and then I can get the skirts painted and fitted as well as the tech 1 rear wing. Need to swap over the roof I have for it which is already on a frame as this one just lets it down.

Had to do a double take when driving past yesterday afternoon 🙂 Also today I replaced the gas struts for the convertible top storage compartment. They were beyond poked and it gets rather annoying having to hold the lid up everytime I want to drop or put back on the top. The little things also made a friend at the gym in Albany just now. Well my car did haha
BMTHUG 1064 Report post Posted February 25 Drove it once this weekend as it was my eldest's 6th birthday. Took the dog out for a drive and walk which he loved. May be going to the Brit and Euro show next Sunday with my old man and his baur. Anyone other e30 owners on here going?
