I am very capable of driving on the track and then having a beer Ill be there next year, unlikely to have anything more important on! Might just need some extra drivers to get my fleet there!

Ok so ideally u would want a program to convery your dvd movie files to a .mp4 or .mkv format. (Another option is to just download them again in the right format.. sometimes converting them can take forever when downloading takes 20 mins)

Final touch are a complete rip off and total cowboys. Used them once, disputed payment because the job was so bad and they refused to make it good. Would never go near them again.

Think you misunderstand me... I was talking about watching the racing and having a beer. Those on the track will have to abstain.

The good old days aye bro. I used to spend every Friday and Saturday at the "drags" was fun. I think technology is a huge distraction, we didn't even have cell phones back then, nothing was organised and the excitement was finding the pack and getting amongst it... you couldn't simply keep track online or txt your mates. Was exciting. The modern technology the Police have makes it harder, CCTV etch, your always being watched. I think general congestion and population / couture growth muddy's things a bit to. And cars are generally faster these days, back when I was a boy racer (still am really) cars with 300bhp were monsters, now days your mums mini van is packing that. Oh, and fuel was 80c a liter, that helped. 90% of modern BMW's are hardly inspiring, as someone said above, this doesn't help things.

expense.. ova policing.. cars are electronic devices these days.. folks who used to run around like crazy modifying cars etc in the old days, are now the law makers putting a stop to these activities.. maybe these things are lending to the decline... As far as this site is concerned, this place is like family... not always in touch, but there when you need to get in touch and always there when you need something, advice, a hand, whatever... so I wouldn't sweat it to much

I joined an alfa forum once. Got two generic answers. Ring the dealer amd buy a factory part. Or get a bank loan then ring the dealer for the factory part. I got banned for showing how i glued a light lens back on. I find it funny how some of the "key knowledge base guys" as good as they are get pissy when people dont take their advice to the letter. When much of their experiance was gained by going against advice and trying new things to find better solutions. Im sure many of those guys were taught by guys who scoffed at efi now they are tuning shift points on smg modules. Mistakes breed ingenuity so dont knock it. That being said the lowest point i think is members new or old who steal from other members. Hellafunktional and that cut springs douchebag pop to mind.

I don't have the equipment, garage, tools to do all the work on my car, or I would. Being female - lots of people turn you down when you say you want to DIY and what advice is there. I also work full time and a single Momma doesn't help my 'free time' cause. I spent a long period learning about BMWs through Ray @ HellBM because he was the only one willing to explain things to me and let me have a go. I now send my cars there for everything, and maybe one day when I'm not working 40 hours a week, and have a nice garage, I'll do it all myself, not just the occasional service and basic things. I have managed to do all the non-engine components my self (interior overhaul, lights, parking sensors) but not yet confident dealing with the internal engine components. I love the Project threads on here - facebook lacks a lot of what forums bring.

I spend what seems countless hours trying to help with free advise that many have to pay for through my business, i give up most of the time on here cause everyone has an opinion but never done it themselves plus hate the fact i do what i do to bmw for god sake its a bloody car get over yourselves. Meet me in person and im 1000 times worse but, im honest and will bust my butt to help those in need and dont expect a bloody thing in return And im sure there's a few that'll take offence to this but the Bimmersports events ive been to ive found people to have their heads well and truly planted up their butt's unless your part of the "in crowed" ive been to a few "caffeine and classic's" park ups and mixed and mingled without an issue expect for the other Beemer ( may not be from on here) guys they wont even look at you, much prefer to hang with my customers and do my own thing.

Wrong ... DIS and INPA works best with Windows 7 (32 or 64 bit) on a duo or quad core machine (very fast) depending on what car you are working on (later INPAs are 64bit only). VMware 6.5 is the most stable from my experience, but you can still create or run systems on later releases like 8, 9 and 10. What people don't understand is INPA, EDIABAS and basically the whole BMW Tools suite and different releases are made for specific periods of cars and productions and some don't work on 32bit machines or cross over to different models very well - most also try to put too many models on - or the wrong files and setup. I've also created a DIS program disc that has v44 coding and v57 diagnostics together .. works perfect (in both VMware and T30 clone laptops). Many also don't get that easydis is created by Ken Fister and you don't need a diagnostic head to use this version (you can put v44 or v57 program into this, or which ever version you have and it will work fine (you can also turn on Mini and Rolls Royce within DIS together with BMW models) - you don't need a ADS cable either to work with earlier cars unless you want automatic recognition rather than manual selection of car model (what you must have is the correct round plug cable with the correct wires populated). You should see the amount of stuff I have on my diagnostic laptop ... you can have everything on one laptop without running multiple virtual systems - you just need to know how to set them up correctly. Another myth is the Com1 port myth (much like the PA Soft 1.4 doesn't work on 64bit Win7 - it most certainly does, I wrote a how to on it!!)... I have different cables set up for different Com port .. .Com1 happens to be the one I never use LOL ..
