Long time no update. Been working hard, but now prepping for targa 2016. After my 'make it lighter project' with: > Alu door > Remove air cond and emissions pump > Glass bonnet and boot > After market boot spoiler > Plastic windows in rear half of car Just weighed it today on the local refuge station weigh bridge (same place as my last weigh in check). Now 1390kg with me in it (77kg) tools, spare tyre, full tank of gas. Everything except a nav. This is down from the prior weight of 1500kg, so thats a 110kg saving. Happy with that. Still have ABS pump to remove, 10kg?. Flipside, still have my OEM front splitter to add, so +6kg for that... Heavy...

Received and repaired and revirginised for ews repairing. Someone who didn't know what they were doing had been trying to flash this via bdm and corrupted the file on one of the chipsets. Poor soldering work on the bdm header also. It was the original dme afterall and the part of the data not corrupted had the correct vin number information on it.

99% Done for now, Majority of the last freakin month and a half was getting the exhaust headers fitted with the V bands to sit in a suitable space, Plus they are an absolute nightmare to fit with the motor in. Hopefully won't be touching them for a long while. Also had the Driveshaft hoops done. Went in for it's cert last week, didn't have any issues except for needing to provide some documentation for E30 vs Z3 rack to ensure no pivot points had been changed, Just emailed them the E30Wiki and a Googled picture of E30 vs Z3 rack which sufficed. Today the cert plate was mounted Actually doesn't ride as bad as I thought with coilovers, abit more noisy but handles well I missed the quick Z3 rack for sure after driving a fully stock E30 round for the last 6 months it's crazy how different they feel and how much better this one handles, very sharp responsive steering. Still to do: Look at raising the Idle RPM abit, Flywheel is noisy as hell and rattles until I give it the lightest bit of throttle to about 900 and it's good. Finish the last 1/3rd of the exhaust from subframe back it's joined to my old 2.5" Coby + Magnaflow, too loud for my liking but I intended on getting some Borla mufflers from Summit racing early next year anyway.

Yep road tested car today everything is working as it should! Glenn your X69 plug, body side, probably doesn't have the pins in it for the ASC and ABS, would be much simpler and more correct to repin this plug correctly. X69 also carries all the automatic stuff so will be empty except for about 5 pins like my one

    so when does it start?

Will do :-) ultimately want to play a few DSD demo tracks should the OS support it at a later date. Mind you, class D on bass gives the cars electrical system relief and I doubt I can hear the difference on lower frequencies. Used to have issues my old PG A/B Amps overwhemling the alternator and battery on the e36.

I can also confirm that I found the following: -Running the car super lean will cause the pistons to blow up almost straight away from detonation. -Having an oil line burst gives you about 300 meters of road before the bearings fall out. -When the bearings go, the pistons will tap the head, It only took the layer of carbon off so didn't do any damage. -Running 5w40 Edge has dropped running temps considerably at the track, not only that but its also much cheaper. Seems like a no brainier. I would say that as long as the engine is run at the correct temps, with the correct AFR and with a constant oil supply, they are pretty bullet proof motors.

I did also forget to say i swapped the cluster and using the cluster from the 328i donor as well, wasnt sure if it was required but swapped anyways. If anyone can confirm this is required i will update my guide above. If not required also let me know!
