But she is new to me. Back in a BMW after too long. Had been looking for a while and finally a nice E23 found me. Not perfect, but pretty good. Took her to Dunedin and back last weekend and it was so good to drive. New wheels are the first thing on my list! Hopefully picking some up this weekend. Will be looking for plenty of advice in the coming months and years. Cheers

Had a similar issue with my E36 a few years back - intermittent locking, some doors / fuel flap / boot not locking, rarely the same door consecutively etc.. Replace the body control (ZKE / GMIV)module in the centre console underneath the blower controls. Brent sussed me out with a replacement module fairly cheaply. Will also lead to power window issues sooner or later, dry / cracked solder joints apparently are the culprits.

Using a browser on a phone blows. Its an app solely for viewing/posting to forums with a small footprint so seems a bit still to say its obsolete.

Exactly what I was implying as well Ron. I've been caught before with rebuilt cams. One was a very costly exercise. The hydraulic buckets on the BMW's have small working tolerances . Back circles must be perfect or the hydraulic element will just pump up and the valve won't seat correctly in the closed position with a loss of compression

The other problem with a 500+hp family station wagon Is that every time you poke the loud pedal you are In danger of having to hand over your licence !! Not such a problem In the 318is.

Until they suddenly tip over, and roll down the bank, with little warning I had a Suzuki Cappuccino many years ago... It really was like a go kart 725KG (before I got in it!), only 47kw supposedly, but you always had it between 3000 and 6000 rpm for "normal" driving, and 7500 was for normal overtaking - I never got it to the limiter, as the little turbo ran out of breath well before the 9200 initial cut. No power steering, only 67 HP, front engine rear drive. Everything was a compromise, and it was awesome to drive - Not because it did everything well, but because you could feel it doing everything. There was only just enough car to hold the drive train onto the seats, and keep the water off you in the rain. Also amusing: I could sit in the drivers seat, and reach over the side and touch the rear tyre

New side grilles arrived and went in last week. Fresh stickers make a difference, albeit minor. Same with the front grilles, but have decided to keep them as spare given OCD cleaned up current ones really well. Booking in for Inspection II and brake bits with JC BMW next month. 8,000kms since last one haha! Car was parked up at Speedshow weekend just been, great group to be parked with and lots of good comments given how OEM based the modding was in comparison to the 500kw+ monsters next to her...Really wanting to move up into a bit more power so headed down to EuroSurgeon for a remap.. Max gains on the map as dynod was around 378hp at crank, however bit drastic so expecting it to go up between 350-360hp. Will get on Dyno and see how she runs with the new map - eerring on the side of evidence needed. And some piccies I took of her. Looking rather pretty Thanks to OCD for the clean up for speedshow

Hello all, thinking of getting my wheels cleaned up, picked them up on the weekend of a forum member, slight curb rash, and slight flaking, before i bother with buying tyres etc, want to get this done first, does anyone have a good recommendation for this type of work? I remember it wasn't long ago and a member was offering this service but cannot think of the member in particular, i know of Arrow Wheels here in Auckland, they do some pretty good stuff and i haven't been dissapointed with their work thus far. I'm in Auckland, so if you know of any outfits that are recommended, feel free to have an input, kind regards, Peter.

Brand new. Fits genuine M3 CSL front bumper and I suppose the Vorsteiner replica bumper - will not fit anything else unless it is a 1:1 replica of the genuine front bumper. Pre preg carbon fiber autoclave finish with predrilled double mounting holes on the bottom. Very strong and well made, in fact I would go as far as to say better made than the genuine splitters. Genuine splitters are over $500 each Bargain at $600 for the set. These are also a MK1 splitter design so they clip into the bumpers a lot better than current MK2/3 designs which are known to fall off at speeds.
