After weeks of successfully ignoring the classified, I finally cracked and messaged @qube about the car. He was extremely patient with my questions, at first general, then specific, and finally random as it became increasingly clear that I was very keen on the car. I had a yarn on the phone with @EUROHO, whose enthusiasm for the car tipped me right over the edge. My father-in-law and I flew up from Vellington last weekend, and Kyu picked us up from the airport. We chatted with him and his dad in a supermarket carpark before shaking hands and promising to treat it right. They were both gentlemen, and it was a pleasure to meet them. We filled up at a motorway services on the southern motorway. I was impressed that when we got home the obc still promised 150km of good times in the tank. We stopped at Good Union in Cambridge on the way - a lovely church that has been converted into a great pub/restaurant. Apart from a leg stretch in Bulls, we knocked the drive out in one from there, and had a great drive, SH32 from Cambridge down to Turangi was a lot of fun.

In excellent condition, with zero kerbing on them. They were recently powder coated and look great. First photos are of actual wheels on my car, others are just of what they look like on different vehicles. Feel free to message me offers. Looking at around the $1000ish.

Hi everyone, a short introduction: - I'm a happy long-time E46 (2001) 325i owner. Car has been great, a joy to drive and damn reliable (regularly servicing has no doubt helped). - I'm based in Auckland. - I haven't modified my car in any way so its stock at the moment. My wife recently got a new car and it seems to have all the bells and whistles so I'm now looking at things I may be able to update a little! - I'm embarrassed to say that I don't have a single pic of my car and as its dark outside I'll have to wait to tomorrow to take a couple to post here. Cheers, Aaron.

Easy solution. Sell the E46, buy another E39.

Bump. Updated OP with some photos of the rims off the car, as they're in my garage now. Eating my words a bit. Price dropped. Accepting reasonable offers.

Only good E36 is the Coupe or Vert in M3 or M sport spec. 4 doors and wagons are pretty iffy.

Kind of click baity. That guy is a wee bit full of himself too, he's ok I suppose though. Does have a point, but it's kinda looking at that sector of worst case examples, the worst looked after examples. Unfortunately BMWs do have faults, and it's just made worst by neglect, lack of servicing and poor mechanical sympathy. One aspect that is worth considering, many buy BMWs, M cars particularly to rev and drive hard, meaning a tougher life, Toyota Corrollas are not subjected to the same treatment, making for a much easier, long boring life. A simplistic view, but certainly a factor, aside from the inherent engine stress levels, HP/Liter and peak rpms etc that play another part.

Yes, it is all related to your post count. When you hit certain numbers you will go up a gear "automatically" - does that make it an auto gearbox..??

I changed to second gear at 100. I didn't even have to push the clutch in.

last week the good folks at Winger BMW kindly fitted my new NZ-legal plates, in place of the (cool, stylin', though not legal) German plates that were on the car when I bought it. I went in looking for fasteners and brackets, to do the job myself... and came out with the job done, gratis! And Winger BMW plate frames too. A very nice touch, and they exceeded my expectations.
