it's Wellington, brother! Just quietly, the understated centre of the universe; on occasion she quietly parts the curtains to reveal stunning beauty amidst that rugged stormy windblown exterior. Like that bogan lady you've known for years who's actually a debutante, slumming it. ?

Hi guys. Have been doing this for a while for a few bimmersport members, so decided to advertise about it. We basically can polish your 1 - 3 piece alloy wheels. This service will include curbing removed and lips polished to a mirror shine. Below are pics. Price will be around $300 to $350 dependent on condition of wheels. Any parts or lips etc required for any 2 and/or 3 piece wheels builds, do let me know. Can source at a good price. PM or 02102758141.

Just pulled the motor out of my 318i. I'm still in two minds whether I fully shave the bay? or just remove brackets and sand off the silicone. Have seen threads of this done. Has anyone on here done it already or has the expertise? The bay will be getting repainted regardless.

Old one was touching our heads on our way home from shopping on sunday so we decided to stop at spotlight and take a look at some materials.... In the end it wasnt my decision so we went home with a hugely marked down piece of fake white fur, approx 1.15x1.5m for $15, adding the price of 2 cans of spray adhesive and the whole job cost about $40. It looks kind of odd... but it feels amazing ?. The whole job took maybe 2.5 - 3 hours, a lot of that time was spent working out how to take interior apart and actually get the fiberglass out of the car in 1 piece.

So because I hate coming across threads that have no conclusion: While the wiring to the door airbags is indeed damaged there was no actual fault (apart from an old "ghost" code) with them. After chasing codes that went from weird to outright spurious- culminating in "Passenger seatback not locking", a code that belongs on a convertible!- Tauranga Auto Electric found the whole mess was caused by a failed passenger occupancy sensor mat .

So managed to get a free hour today to tap the new thread into the block and the new bolt in. The oil feed hole wont be needed on the m60 chain setup.

e60: Yesterday saw a report from panel shop : more damage found in rear bumper, previous repair poorly executed (plastic welded but filler cracking, poorly adhered and heavy). "Yep, please do it right" (which is additional scope and comes out of my pocket, not insurance). So I dropped by for a squizz. Seems the bumper was originally black, had a few layers of paint on it. It's well on it's way to looking great. They've worked their magic on the dent in the guard where it meets the bumper, metal-finished back, appears no filler required. "The dark arts".

I snapped up @Lucan's Xenons on trademe a while back. After abit of wet sanding and buffing they are in pretty good shape. Installed without having to be coded in too which was cool. Looking forward to going for a drive in the dark now. I also finally put the last two heat shields back on and after checking for oil leaks since the major overhaul (bone dry) put the splash guard back on.

Hi all Antony here from Christchurch. Got myself a 2007 335i recently and thought i would join the club and sift through some post. Looking at doing a few things in the future but just going to enjoy it for awhile. Looking at doing downpipe, intercooler and tune in the future as well as intake valve clean? (not sure on method yet). If anyone knows someone who would be able to do tune please let me know. Thanks

Thought I'd post here before going to trademe. Looking for $6500. Full photos here - https://www.flickr.com/x/t/0090009/photos/143373174@N04/ First year of the classic shape E38. Equipped with an aluminum, chain driven 4.0L V8 producing 210kw and 400nm of torque. 156,100km WoF and Rego till August 2016. Presented in Ascotgruen Metallic, this car was equipped with the following from the factory. Auto dimming cabin lights Adaptive transmission (sports mode) PDC (parking sensors front + rear) ASC stability/traction control ABS Cruise control Comfort seats - 14 way adjustable + memory Rear electric sunblind Electric sunroof Electric mirrors Alarm system Dual automatic climate control Driver + passenger airbag Double glazed windows Some subtle upgrades have been done to modernise the car including: LED taillights, angel eye headlights and twin mufflers which gives the car a subtle V8 growl it should of had from the factory. Also equipped with a Blauphunkt 6CD stacker + headunit. The car is sitting on 19 inch BBS rims, lowered in the front (original springs available) with Falken FK452 tires all round. The pre facelift models of the E38 had the M60 engine which wasn't prone to timing chain snaps like the M62. It also the more robust 5HP30 transmission (can handle more torque than it's successor the 5HP24). Recent maintenance includes a service at Pit Stop (153,000 kms) including a new battery with a 3 year warranty. An extensive service was carried out at Euro Car Services at 144k including full fluid change (coolant, transmission, engine, brake), air con regassed, rocker cover gaskets replaced and some new suspension arms. Front shocks are Monroe units which have been replaced recently. Have also got the intake manifold gasket, idle control valve and fuel pressure regulator replaced by BM Workshop at 155k. The bonnet and front guards have also had a respray only 2 months ago. Being 22 years old, the car does have some quirks such as the rear sunblind making clacking noises as it retracts and drivers side glovebox doesn't like to close. Cosmetically there are some small defects as well (small scratches, cracks in plastics etc). Headlining and the instrument cluster display are in excellent condition which are common faults with this model. The car looks absolutely stunning in person and gets looks from young and old, the cabin atmosphere and the way it drives especially on the highway is quite special. Very regrettable sale but unfortunately I need something more practical for the daily commute and have no room to keep this as a weekend car.
