Day 470: Had a bit of an unexpected win this weekend! With the help of a couple of mates, we managed to turn the red machine into a rolling mirror. The mirror in question proceeded to win "Best Show & Shine Presentation" at the Euro Club meet over the weekend! The car didn't need much work to be fair, it really did help that the previous owners took such fantastic care of it! Scored myself a wicked polishing machine amongst other super cool goodies! might break it in on the SO's DC5R apologies for orientation. Took them for instagram story thing.

All done, just waiting on the stainless lines now. Cars at 265000km now, thinking the next project will be to get myself a N52B30 long block and rebuild it with MILVS, and some nice headers, and a BPC tune. Maybe even swap engines first and rebuild the current one, it runs mint but Id like to see what a 300,000km N52 looks like inside.

Rattle hunting today Every since i bought the E39, about 6 months ago, there has been a loose metallic "jangle" or rattle from the drivers side ffront wheel well area. local shop checked it out when doing other work, reported nothing loose. Had some time today and decided to check it out myself, removed the wheel, inspected suspension bits, stone guard and rattle clips. All seemed tight with no extra noise. Moved to the under side of the car, knocking on the undertray - bingo! rattly, loose screws and washers all over the under side With a number of scews / bolts actaully missing and others loose plenty of tightening followed with 2screws not able to be tightened as they dont seem to be fasteneing into anything on the otherside, these 2 were re- stuck in place with wads of bluetack (ghetto i know but a more permanent solution once road tested)
