Seems the amount of people chancing their arms on these is increasing... This one is worse than the recent guy trying to sell a silver auto with 40kms for $21,500. $16k for 130kms, some questionable cosmetic mods and no maintenance to speak of. https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-2566248312.htm?rsqid=5c8e9d47e50742ebb814a3e5edaada4a-001 Wonder if the market will eventually start picking up for nice non-m' E46's with M3's getting spendier by the day?

Right, so I went over and had a poke around last night. Can confirm the issue, the throttle will randomly fail to respond immediately, and will come back with a jerk. After that if you keep driving there is no low end power and the throttle response is rubbish. Inpa comes up with code 2A38, valvetronic servomotor: binding or open circuit. No CEL. We cleared the code, did a relearn for both end stops (which passed OK, can hear motor go from stop to stop) and it seemed to drive fine until it faulted and threw the same code. At this point we noted in inpa that the live data from the valvetronic motor showed a fixed reading for "VVT actual value" and wasn't moving (like it does when tested straight after an end stop test). Running the end stop test again "freed" it up and it passed fine. So I'm thinking either it's the valvetronic motor, or maybe the eccentric shaft sensor. Need Dan to check if there is oil in the connector for the sensor as that's a common failure and oil is a giveaway. Neither part is cheap enough to be shotgunning parts at it. Anyone had this before?

I drove in convoy with this car, early Jan 2020 from around Tirau all the way into Auckland CBD. Was a good and fast blast! If the owner is on here, I was the silver E39 540i

Well I got a set of Style 101s which where a cost option upgrade on the E65. Staggered 20s which I wasn’t super sure on, but in the end am very happy with the result. I think they suit the style without being super OTT. Rides great and zero rubbing, perfect offset and fit. They need a little work however for $800 with Pilot Super Sports that have 3-4mm left I can hardly complain ?

Guess you didn't love the M5 as much as you said?
