Engine supported, engine mounts unbolted from the bottom side, subframe bolts out, tranny cooler loosened off, steering rack unbolted, CCV drain disconnected then undo all the sump bolts... 10 minutes of swearing and jiggling and the sumps out, the auto sump is much more of a chinese finger puzzle than the manual. The tranny cooler lines and extra bulk compared to the manual sump make it much more challenging.

Im surprised when i don't see a car still on the original fuel filter. Poly coupler is the way i go i think unless you have a bad joint.

Mid way through the lock-down and I'm jealous of those with car projects underway. I did a search of my garage and found 2 sets of Bushes for the pedal supporting bracket. Add these to my new black pedal set, I've gota project. This project all going well should take 1-3 hrs, I stretched it out for 4 days (more pictures added) Slacker

I used the poly ones from ireland engineering and was a good improvement and no difference in harshness. If you want a hand with the suspension after the lockdoen let me know - I have all the tools.

Hey Nathan yeah it actually fits quite well and looks pretty cool. As for the super charger there isnt much info on it, all i could find was it made by ihi and capable of making 2.1L. Mines from a e55 AMG m113k if you want to look for more info. But in saying that i know i change my mind often and have decided im going to put the supercharger onto the x5 manual swap build. Due to the height and space in the engine bay plus i think the e46 wagon has more than enough power to keep it fun as N/A. @leonf send me a private message I'm more than happy to T up a time after lock down for you to pop around to see the projects, would love to also have a ride in your beast too.

Richard fellow PalmNth local here. Would love to have a look at your project sometime. And if you have not seen, in person, the HellBM s54 M3 Touring build happy to show you and take it for a spin. Yours will chuck out more hp, I suspect.........

Was giving the car a little Easter love yesterday, things however didn't go to plan ? Swapped out my front and rear sway bar bushings and had planned to do my fuel filter and steering coupler as well. Turns out, like a muppet, I had bought the LHD steering coupler, and to add insult to injury the RHD version looks to be over double the price (and a more cramped install). Then I couldn't get the fuel filter hoses off, date stamp on filter was 2001(!!) so will have to wait till stores are open again, buy some more fuel hose and cut the old ones off. Finally, getting car into the carport (very tight 5 point turn for access so I seldom use it) managed to put a little dent in the rear panel above the bumper and below taillight from a little tree branch 'hiding' in a bush. Then while trying to access the panel from behind to see if I could push it out, I managed to do something to my tail light and i've got a 'phantom' bulb out dash light now.... Good times! Car did feel a little flatter in turns after the bushings at least - looking forward to doing the shocks, struts and CABs after lockdown.
