Forgot to add I found the very start of some rust in the left A pillar. Only piece of rust I've seen in the whole car !! Was essentially just a paint bubble and I assume an imperfection in the e-coat which allowed the start of it. Got onto it with a little wire wheel, rust converted it then added epoxy primer and some colour matched blue over the top. Glass back in !!! The tint looks awesome and will be sweet once it's done all over. Will get to finishing the roof sanding and polishing tonight Then tomorrow ... wash the dusty thing !!!

Got the car back from the Panelbeater this evening, looks the best it ever has. Both doors and the rear quarter resprayed. If you ever need panelbeating/paint work done in Auckland I can't recommend Neville at Bute Collision Repair Browns Bay enough, absolute legend always does an amazing job and very reasonable prices, this job was 1/5th the cost of what other places had quoted. Safe to say i wont be parking it on that Culdesac anymore.

Note to self, don't drive the M5 while incredibly angry at not so better half first thing in the morning with traction control off and the full beans turned on in the very wet. Sideways was a welcome de-stress in the middle of nowhere for a while until a large deep puddle engaged the pucker factor to the max. Need to finish the Subaru build so I can be angry with AWD instead :D Or just get a divorce, but I doubt the M5 would survive that carve up, bugger.

PCB's arrived ... really impressed with the overall experience with JLCPCB !! Waiting on the remainder of the components from RS so i can assemble a board and test everything out. I'm expecting some minor fitment issues which may need a rev 2 but we shall see.

You will find BMW 4cyl before mid 2000s were pretty good, many of them better than the equivalent 6cyl at the time.

You guessed it spot on. I got it for $500 haha. Only done 120,000km. Body is clean and straight apart from minor scratch here and there. Interior is super clean. I would’ve kept it if it was prefacelift model. I don’t really like the facelift indicator style it’s just not for me… Hopefully I can get the engine out of the car and start getting ready for rebuild. Still waiting for camshaft locking tool kit so no rush but it’s always good to get the things done in timely manner.

While this thread's been dug back up @*Glenn* - here's a cool memory of my questionably styled Hellrot facing off against your NZ first Ti + M52B28 conversion (don't quote me on that) down Meremere. From memory, we faced off twice and had similar trap times and what a bloody good day it was. And another of you, @BM WORLD and I having a chinwag. Loved that 535i Brent! Good times.
