    The plinth is attached with self tapping screws, that's as flush as it gets. Frame is a lot tidier now though. I couldn't source the correct screws for the frame but was taking the car in for a service anyway so the mechanic replaced them with the correct screws while he was at it.

    Id add some stuff having owned both for at least 6 years- E30 tax(obviously), all E36 front end benefits - 5 lug\wheel selection, plug and play steering racks, M3\vert underbrace, camber washers, easier to work on and generally far more part options available. Rear end is easier to work on due to more space and the inner brake lines are way easier to change. E30 benefits that i can think of - factory medium case diff and axle setups if you doing a engine swap\power upgrade. Some interior stuff is higher quality - door cards, headlining etc. Proper spare wheel. Old style sport seats and no airbags (preference). Possibility the having a stiffer body due to rear seat bulkhead. Great engine which suits both chassis with a manual box. Always wanted to see it in a drag race - M44 vs M20B25, i reckon the M44 would do ok.

    If you have any questions feel free to pm me. I have recently manual swapped my 135i, I used a gs6-53bz box out of a factory manual 135i. It’s really not too hard at all. works like a factory manual cad, cruise control works, reverse lights, mirror dips when put into reverse etc.

    He had quite the collection, and the condition of everything spoke volumes. Notably, a Boston Green E36 M3 and a 911. German, and an engineer by profession for what it’s worth!

    Thanks for the heads-up Scott, I actually ended up buying the higher mileage one. It was in better condition, drove nicer and had more history with it than anything else I'd looked at. Plus the previous owner was great to deal with.

    EV company car for the win! Zero fuel bill, RUCs paid. Also next to no brake dust as regen braking is used 99% of the time for single pedal driving (wonder what old 3pedals would have to say about that) so don’t have to clean alloys that often. Amongst other things 😜

    A GS6-45BZ from an N55 vehicle (e.g. M135i) can be made to work. The 45BZ used in S55 (F8x) applications is different (longer bellhousing due to different flywheel setup).

    Interesting, though I'm not entirely convinced that's not a documentation error - all images I can find relating to the remanufactured part number have a BZ label. If trying to use a DZ, be sure to know it's coming from an N54-powered car; the bell housing will be wrong if coming from an N57 vehicle.

    Next small project, IPhone 13 user so pre empting new model next month. Need to change from BMW iPhone Snapin lightning to USB C for lossless audio / bmw apps / phone charging duties. Going to use a usb c adapter from a G12 7 series and install in console and connect into a snapin port on Idrive. Will add power and light circuit . Should give 3 amps / 15 watts of charging.
