This has been up for a bit now. My favourite E36 colour: Techno-Violet. Reserve is between 6-8k. Would love a 328i Touring in this colour. If I had spare cash and space for a summer car I'd be keen. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/328i/listing/5174387868

There's a few around. I contacted George at Advanced Chrome Platers in Hamilton and he did a fabulous job for me. (He also does wheel rim repairs.) He has (or had) a website but that doesn't seem to be working at present. Facebook page exists but hasn't been updated in several years: https://www.facebook.com/p/Advanced-Chrome-Platers-100059898652085/ I know that 10 years or so ago he was concerned that while he wasn't planning retirement, there seemed zero interest from anyone to take over the business. The business is still listed as current at Companies House.

Hi John i can highly recommend MoDelCo - The Motorcycle Delivery Company. They recently delivered a set of wheels for me from Napier to CHCH. They are Hawkes Bay based, but if you are prepared to wait a bit, they might be able to pick up from other locations. https://m.facebook.com/p/Modelco-The-Motorcycle-Delivery-Company-100057216829720/ I got onto them via wise move, but I have the owner's number (Jason) if you need it. cheers paul

If you bought it privately and didn't inspect it first, you'll need to suck it up and fix the issues and move on. If you got it from a dealer, you could try having them fix it. You'll be hard pressed to just "get my money back". Regarding the issues, E61 wagons are known for sunroof issues, do some research and you should be able to find how to manually close it and then never touch it again as IIRC there is a piece in them that breaks and is a pain to fix. Lots of them leak (I think both of the ones i looked at buying were leaking, and one had mouldy carpet). Tailgate struts can be replaced, do some research on that too. I hate to point it out, but you should also look into N62 V8 engine issues too. If it doesn't have valve stem seal issues now, it will at some point. They're a very nice car when they're in good shape and working well. If you like it, its worth fixing it and enjoying it.
