It’s with some regret that I am selling this car as I really love it but no longer need it. It’s been a fun and faithful not-every-day daily for the last 5 and a half years during which I’ve given it the best care I can. Perfect for a driver that wants a rapid auto, or who has the means to do a manual swap. Highlights Essentials: Mileage: ~138,000 kms Warrant Expires: June 2025 Registration Expires: June 2025 Price: $10,000 firm Viewing: Epsom, Auckland by appointment - 022 413 9857 (please txt first) Showroom Thread: https://bimmersport.co.nz/topic/62890-my-fun-130i-e87-lci-motorsport-auto/ – note: the contents of that thread may be dated and no longer accurate, if you see something over there that’s important to you please ask rather than assume. The Good: It’s fast and agile, absolutely planted w/custom geometry, no rear end hop Mechanical LSD Custom adjustable coilovers w/Eibach springs (fully cert’ed) M3 front suspension components Custom full length stainless exhaust w/Y pipe 280hp tune and gearbox flash (it’s absolutely feral in Sport mode) Really good condition inside with some genuine BMW Performance additions Blue Brembo F series brakes (rears not installed) New battery and nearly new front pads and rotors Refurbished style 208 wheels in Ferric Grey II (small rash on LR) External billet PCV/CCV (Orange Wolf) Proper sequential aluminium shift paddles (R pull = up, L pull = down) Cruise control (full OE retrofit) 10.25" Android touch screen w/Bluetooth The Bad: Headlights could do with a polish Headlining has recently failed, held up with upholstery pins Stupid personalised plate FUNWON (included free if you want it, not sure of procedure if you don't tbh) The Ugly: Roof and bonnet paint are both scoured, it’s weird as it’s under the clear coat – I’ve had the whole car professionally cut and polished and that hasn’t improved it, if it bothers you then a new (used) bonnet (~$150) and a wrap for the roof (~$250) would be my recommendation. But it's really difficult to see other than close inspection, see first pic below as good evidence. Additional Details Drivetrain: N52B30 w/280 hp + 340 Nm tune Annual oil and filter changes (Penrite HPR5 5w-40) VANOS solenoids & filters removed, tested, & cleaned Mishimoto silicon intake hose BMC performance washable air filter Billet CCV/PDV valve (Orange Wolf, no more blown valve cover or oil filter housing gaskets) Gorgeous custom stainless 'Y' exhaust (Orange Wolf) Automatic w/tune (Sport mode is wild) Proper mechanical LSD (presumed to be Orange Wolf but unconfirmed) Chassis: E90 M3 front lower control arms Poly bushed front tension arms (E90 M3+) E90 M3 front anti-roll bar w/new bushings & droplinks Camber pin mod Front Ultra Racing strut bar CPM centre chassis brace M140i front Brembos w/new slotted & dimpled rotors (<1000kms) Braided front brake lines M140i rear Brembos (not installed) – I have new E39 M5 rotors available separately if you want to install these brakes as that was the prevailing solution when I purchased the brakes but now, you’re much better off going with these: https://vysgarage.com/shop/ols/products/rear-caliper-bushings-slash-inserts-for-rear-brembo-m-sport-f2x-slash-f3x-slash-f8x-calipers which is what I’d do if I were keeping the car and MUCH less faff. Braided rear brake lines (not installed) Custom adjustable coilovers (Orange Wolf w/Eibach springs) Rear Nolathane poly subframe bushing inserts Custom corner weighted geometry (Racelign) Body: Sapphire Black Metallic Matte black kidney grills Dual Xenon HID's LED angel eyes (5800k) Philips X-tremeUltinon LED fog lights (5800k) Smoked progressive LED side indicators M3 wing mirror covers OEM Blackline tail lights Replaced rear wiper motor (no leaks!) I went through my parts list to harvest all the main rubber manufacturers. Note that as at April 2025 some of these parts are no longer available from the manufacturer I previously sourced: Front Suspension and Steering: Strut Mounts - Sachs Front Bump Stops - Rein Coil Spring Shims - mixture of Genuine BMW and Lemforder Front Swaybar Links - Meyle HD Lower Control Arms: Lemforder LCA Bushing kit (e36 solid) - Febi Tie rods - TRW OEM Steering Rack Bellows - Rein Tie Rod lock plate - gen BMW Drivetrain: Front Wheel Bearings: SKF Engine Mount - Febi Gearbox Mount - Corteco Shift Bushings - all Genuine BMW except the one at the back which was delrin from USA - not recommended. Diff Bush - Corteco Guibo - Corteco Rear Wheel Bearings - FAG Rear Suspension: Subframe Mounts - Meyle (FWIW I'd not use Meyle in future - Meyle HD is still great stuff). Rear shock upper mounts - Meyle HD RTAB set - Lemforder Coil Spring Shims - mixture of Genuine BMW and Lemforder ARB Bushes - Genuine BMW Rear ARB droplinks - Lemforder Hope that helps.

Wow, it's up for sale again. thanks for the heads-up @str8_6 it's still looking tidy. A lot of car for the money, the owner's put ~19k on it in ~14 months. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/545i/listing/5262801469

Id recommend against poly in RTAB based on my experience. I found no real performance benefit, added noise and anywhere poly rotates will need to be re-lubed at some point, not something you want to do with trailing arms. I think solid mounted subframes are generally great with no major downsides, problem is on the E30 the diff is not isolated\part of it so you do run into issues especially if raising it. If you can find one on an old diff, run a OE solid rubber diff mount or even softer poly, makes a big difference in rear end control over the typical one. Adjustable toe\camber plates is worth doing if you have the subframe out and have to cert it.

Fistpump 👊 and a bump for a good deal S55. Now that I'm an owner I have a much better appreciation for this epic platform. Worth noting that the aftermarket mods on this one are best in class (Bootmod3, VRSF, BMS, H&R) and worth well over $6k installed, and that's not to mention the Competition parts. That stage 2 is like 500+ hp right? GLWS, with the included M3 goodies that's a lot of car for 70k.

Someone should buy this one and my manual one and make one amazing car.

I've put a post at the (open) end with all the different manufacturers of rubber bushings and mounts that I used to date on my e30. Hope that helps.

For a 5k BMW it is good buying. Classic example of service history vanishing when the new owner makes no effort to record\retain it.

I bought almost everything from FCP Euro. They were a mix of Lemforder, Febi, all sorts. Plenty of info on my build thread.

Time for an update, took her in to Apex on the shore and SJ there changed the springs all round and did some engine work, it really is the perfect height now - it was far too low for a chap approaching 60 - purrs like a kitten now (added a cat pic accordingly )- some seals were letting air in (im no mechanic) so it was very lumpy at idle, not any more . A new IS lip, new number plates as the old ones were bent and rusty a new OEM gear stick gator from BMW (had it with the ill fitting eBay ones) and a new gear knob to tidy the whole thing up inside - still mulling over paintwork as its a little rough close up in places and air con needs sorting still ..
