Update i purchased a 16mm whiteline rear arb and installed it with a pair of E30 OEM links with the whiteline polyurethane hanger bushes. Took it for a spin on some of our great Waikato roads this afternoon. Along with the other improvements I made ie. new OEM trailing arms bushes and AKG polyurethane subframe mount bushes what was good handling just got great with nice flat handling through the corner and with stiffer links up front turn in feels better as well. Still a track day would be the best place to really test it.

We get it, you don't like speedway. Plenty of people do, and I wouldn't say it's that minor at all. It has a huge following. But of course you'll have an explanation why that following is actually small or non existant. I don't like it so people shouldn't do it. Cool story bro.

So after some time to think, I've decided to do a build thread about my new daily projects or how i came about it. So I went on the hunt for a E34 sedan as i love the shape. Managed to score the 540i sedan off joKer here on bimmersport. Wasn't in the prettiest of shape but fixable. So on the hunt for parts to fix up the sedan and I see this comment on a trade me ad. Seller saying wheels were off a e34 540i touring and he was looking at selling that one day. I hit him up and he's keen to sell. Nice I'm thinking to myself i have a complete car to strip parts from! So long story short I pick up the touring and it is is such mint condition apart from sitting for 3 years. it would be an utter shame to wreck this beast. So this is where i am now with a daily E34 540i sedan and rare E34 540i touring that i plan to New Plans #̶1̶ ̶c̶o̶n̶v̶e̶r̶t̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶m̶a̶n̶u̶a̶l̶ #1 Daily E34 sedan - swap to m60b44 and convert to manual #̶2̶ ̶d̶o̶ ̶a̶ ̶m̶6̶0̶b̶4̶4̶ ̶s̶w̶a̶p̶ #2 Sunday driver E34 touring leave auto and m60b40 add supercharger So currently both cars are running. Sedan just a general clean, got bonnet painted and fitted new from bumper. The touring had a bit of work to get it going mainly a new fuel pump, drain old fuel, new oil, dry out the carpet and a good scrub. Here are some picture of before and after of how both vehicles looked. after pictures enjoy team.

Nothing. I have spent a lot of time getting tools out of the garage, and putting them away again. Bloody weather!

And I disconnected the exhaust silencer flap and bunged the vacuum hose. That's probably 10 rwhp for sure.

The 328 got some love today with the rear end suspension overhaul under way. I only got one side done this afternoon because some tool had installed one of the rear shocks the wrong way around (smh). No worries, the other side is an easy task for tomorrow afternoon. I needed a 600mm breaker bar to undo the bottom bolts, electric impact just couldn't cut it. This is the LH shock installed incorrectly and the bottom bolt was stuffed into the bushing... I couldn't get any purchase on the bolt. This is how it should be installed. So I had to spend 30 mins cutting away the bushing with a Stanley knife, a good result only cost me two blades.

Yes or maybe even Germany / back to Saudi. I will have some fun with it in NZ before I make any decisions. I’m really warming to the E34. Thanks mate!

Those Avin units look really good and the functionality is far superior to the Dynavins from what I have read and seen. Also, just on a side note, I feel as though the Mpar's might be better suited to the 750i to give it a more classic look and the 740i might look even better with the BBS RC's. Wheel swap them when you have some free time and see how it looks?

I still use Edge in the M3. The 328 does love its Penrite though. So does my wallet.

I am running the above setup and it feels mint. Really good stopping power that doesn't cost an arm & leg. We all know how expensive breaks can get!

You should do a restoration thread/discussion to cover your adventure ....

Looks like this recall was a little late for my 2011 X3 3.0D. Anyone get held up heading south of Manukau on SH1/Waikato Expressway yesterday around 9am? That was my smouldering wreck parked up on the left. Heading away on a golf weekend Friday morning, just me and golf clubs on board, had crested Bombay Hills when the engine stuttered a couple of times, then lost power. Msg on display said "transmission in neutral" which struck me as odd so pulled off inside lane to a flush painted median where there is an on ramp. Bit of smoke drifting out from passenger side of bonnet. 08:30 Rang 111 as I didn't like where I had to stop immediately beside highway. 10 mins on the phone trying to explain where I was. More smoke, so evacuated cabin and began unloading the golf gear from rear cargo space. Flames and dripping burning melt from front LHS of engine bay by 08:45. A couple of guys with small aerosol extinguishers had a go but not effective. 08:55 fire service finally arrive after attending the wrong vehicle further north. My X3 fully alight and took FS another 15 mins to get control. So how does a well-maintained, fully-serviced, mechanical warrantied, lightly-loaded, sedately-driven BMW do this? Felt lucky it was diesel so no major explosions, just tyres and air bag adding some pop to the pyrotechnics. No-one damaged, just a burnt hole in the road, delayed motorists, and cancelled golf trip.
