Nice E28! Curious as to what niggles you've had with the M20 (feel free to PM if you like), I've had no real issues with mine and just did 1000KM of the gumboot rally and it was flawless. (Also are you "whereisnelson" on trademe?)

Hi, Is anyone interested in buying my e28... Im moving into an apartment and I just dont have the space anymore for a spare car. Its mint, No rust, I am replacing the sunroof with a new one Ex germany, just had the front resprayed as it was clear faded. the 17 inch style 5's are in good nic, could used a prepsol polish, it has a good modern stereo with sub and amp in the boot. Car has Aircond, but needs regas Hoping for around $7,000? ***Alternatively if someone wants to give me a price to swap a M5X or S5X motor and box in I would look at keeping it, just sick of the constant niggles with the m20, i have a young kid and another on the way so no time anymore.

Hi a number of you may have seen this car for sale a couple of months back. It's been pretty much out of sight for some years but is known to a few people and once again is back on the road with me as its third owner. #328 was NZ new and has just clocked up 116k km. If I have this right in 1991-ish the ACS wheels and body kit were fitted and the engine was given a healthy dose of Dinan "love and attention" upping its performance ... Mileage at that time was approx 80k km. There is no evidence of repair or rust, it's very original and except for the OBC everything works. As I understand it the same guys (guru's) have serviced and looked after it all their lives, which I find particularly cool. That said it's needed a little recommissioning , new tires have transformed it, leather rejuvenation has made it look like new inside along with a few bits and pieces. The biggest ticket item being a NOS AC radiator. Next week it's booked in to spend sometime with a couple of the well known BMW guru's being dyno''d. I'll let you know how it goes. Regards Julian

Mine gets about 18.5 L/100k, i take it to BMW for servicing but expect to spend a bit with them. I only down shift if i am using manual mode, if it's in D i let it do the work.

I take mine to BM Workshop. They are reasonable, but rather busy. Probably about 600 for a service as it takes 9L of fairy princess oil. Fuel economy is terrible. I get 5.0km/l if I use it on my daily commute from Ranui to CBD. On the open road it gets to about 7.2 which I can live with. Sadly my 535i uses literally half the amount of fuel. Downshifting I think it's optimal to just let the trans downshift itself when coming to a stop. Cheers, LR

Interview this morning. Should be interesting... The interviewer is the person I will replace - he has moved 'up' int he company. I wonder if he's looking for someone like him, or someone to take things in a different direction? Impossible to tell. The company has shared a 'position description' which I take as a good thing - so many describe this document as a 'job description'. Subtle, semantic difference, but potentially an important one. That said, the document is 7 pages long... ? (And doesn't include making tea!)

Just notice the plate, FU 911... terribly childish. Call me a bore but those kind of 'RIP EVO' attack plates are just the worst of car culture.
