TRADEME LINK Asking Price $14,500 It’s a race car! Originally built to compete in the BMW E30 series, and specced accordingly. Overall the car is in pretty decent shape considering it’s age, and it still puts a smile on my face to pedal around. I’ve made a lot of great memories taking this car racing over the years, it will be sad to see it go, but equally, I will be happy to see it go to someone who has the time to enjoy it properly. Engine: M20B20 L-jetronic, fully rebuilt (top and bottom) to E30 Race Series Specs by Dennis Huijser including custom exhaust. Dyno tuned by Gavin Bellars. Gearbox refurbished by Kayne Barrie. Both engine and gearbox only did two race meets in ~2017 before being put in storage. The car has only been out for the odd weekend drive since then. A perfect car for getting into circuit racing. Fitted with a homologated roll cage, pre-certified braided brake lines and up-to-date race seats and drivers harness. Comes with motorsport New Zealand log book. After a good spanner check and some new tyres you’ll be ready to go racing! Alternatively, get an authority card or LVVC to make it road-legal as a track day car or similar. Comes with a spare set of bmw 15x7 basketweaves and some old Toyo tires (not track-worthy) I also have a bunch of spare parts in storage that could be negotiated into the deal if the buyer is interested in anything specific. I’m happy to talk to serious buyers to answer any questions and fill in more details about the car.

Stopped at the Pitstop Coffee place in Carterton yesterday morning. Really well kept E46 M3 in black with the plate M33333. I think it is the owner of the print shop there. Also has a nice BMW R70ish cafe racer. Nice to see one out and about rather than sitting in some ones garage where they are hoping it will go up in value by another $5k this year.

Oh damn! I was chatting to the owner at the Mt Smart M fest, hell of a nice guy - was an aircraft engineer for the Airforce I recall? The patina on this car is amazing, the engine still has cosmoline all over it - a truly honest unrestored example. As luck would have it I'll be in Auckland this arvo, will have to swing past and check it out - I'll definitely be having a bid.

I'd have to re-watch the video too but off the top of my head - didn't reprogram the DSC for the new diff, should of used M3 or better RSMs, better subframe and maybe rtabs for track car, subframe inspection/reinforcement appeared to a bit lacking, did he do strut tower and shocks tower plates? Bending the subframe trying to push out new bushings made me laugh. Heating them and knocking them out is by far the best method.

I'd have to re-watch the video but from memory the biggest thing was not touching the front of the motor much. Left the front main seal, left the timing cover on so didn't replace the chain guides etc. I think he was on a time limit in order to make a drift day or something though so maybe he will go back and do that stuff. I had my fingers crossed he was going to do a full rebuild on the B30 before it went in since it would be useful timing for me.

Feels like a realistic market value price to me. All these people asking 40+ are dreaming these days.

Wairarapa SH2 roadworks claimed my windscreen this morning. Not excited about the replacement process, especially at this time of year. Given the terrible reviews of S+S Glass (who are preferred repairer) wondering if I should call Continental Cars and see what they'd charge. Screen has rain sensor and high beam assist camera so hopefully I should get an OEM screen rather than some janky chinese crap
