  1. Hi, does that mean that the nuts do up past the thread now, should be at least 2 threads above the nut? Interested if they perform, do you do rear strut braces as well, if so, how much? Thanks.
  2. I've been lead to believe that Japan's the best option out of the 3, the others being Hong Kong and Singapore. I've recently bought a 1995 740i out of Japan with 96,000 k's on the clock, after looking around Auckland for a couple of months at the other options. I saw 2 or 3 cars which had been imported from Singapore and they all showed bad degradation of all the rubber, some to the extent that it had perished completely. The car I ended up buying came in from Japan, and looked to be in the same condition as most of the NZ new cars I had looked at, but cost about 40% less. So far it's been very good, no problems yet, touch wood, car's absolutely lovely. From my own experience I'd say no problems from Japan anyway, the last 5 vehicles I've owned have all been Jap imports, and none of them have caused me any problems.
  3. Looking for a set of manual winders for a 2 door coupe, can anyone help? Thanks
  4. Thanks Graeme, yeah, I'll give you a call, The heaters out so I could remove the aircon core, guess I'll leave it out until I've done the pedalbox which won't be for a couple of weeks as the cage's going in next, will ring.

    And another? http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...on-61504055.htm
  6. Pardon my ignorance too Kerry, but does that mean that there's no point in shelling out the bucks for a front tower strut in the E30 series cars, as spherical bearings are not allowed in the front, only the rear? And if that's the case, how much will a rear tower strut help the back of the car? Thanks for your help.

Bidding at $10,000, 10 days to go, red flags up, so it's selling. Seems to be lots of interest.
  9. On further checking, the std heater demister must be retained, so seems I'm looking for a heater core? Can anyone help? Thanks.
  10. thanks for the advice, yes it's on the racer, still want to get all the aircon works out, can this be done any other way?
  11. Anyone got a good site with details of total heater and aircon removal please?
  12. Hey, thanks for that, would like facelift then if anyone can help?
  13. Seems any E30 pedal box will do.
  14. Hi, after info on what pedal boxes will fit a facelift 318i? Have the box, clutch etc, will pedal boxes from other E30's fit, if so which ones please? Thanks.
  15. On the 318 it feeds back to the block under the inlet manifold, passengers side, same piece of plumbing the heater hose comes off.
  16. Hi, not too bad, I used a heat gun to soften it, and a heavy scraper to lift it, took about an hour to do the inside. Good luck.
  17. Hi, would guess the thermostat's jammed open, or been taken out?
  18. Side tank only on my 318's
  19. Got my manual box, but still need the pedal box for my conversion, 89 318i E30. Can anyone help please?
  20. I did get a 4 door, but also a 2 door coupe, Sucker I guess, got 740 as well, Bought the 4 with a blown motor, changed that and found the box stuffed, so changed that and have it running now, but missing a bit at low revs, might have a vacuum issue somewhere, or maybe a high tension lead problem? Have started gutting the 2 door, getting ready for the cage, still have to do the manual conversion as well, have the gearbox, need a pedalbox. Cheers.
  21. Hi, have removed the dash, and am getting ready for the roll cage, hopefully next week. Trying to remove all the tar on the floor so my cage man can get at everything, then on to stripping the headlining out. Shouldn't be as bad as the dash I hope. Reckon I've taken 90 kgs of carpet, tar and sound deadening out of the cab already. Cheers.
  22. C'mon guys, I think you're biased, just cause it's a 740 doesn't mean we can't have a bit of fun?
  23. Hi, anyone know a good article on removing the dash from an 89 318i on the web? Cheers.
  24. Thanks, just had a look, can't see it, do you know the link, or auction number? Cheers.
