Ticking from the injectors is normal... knocking isnt M50/52 engines dont have adjustable tappets.... hydraulic self adjusting lifters The loss of power is probably due to something else.... I suggest you get it scanned

The correct way is to use a rattle gun at its lowest setting and then use a torque wrench to torque them at 90 Nm We have a special torque wrench specificaly for that purpose. All wheels removed in our workshop get refitted this way

Same thing I came up with checking TIS for Ewen this morning. Chassis # might help in case its different though -
Not as far as software goes.. updates are done via the internet. The hardware is fairly future proof as far as capacity and speed goes.. will see me out I'm sure
-
Yes....so long as we can continue to get the updates

What if you worked for GM ??
-
We've been busyer since this so called recession started

A dealer or an independent BMW specialist ONLY ..... no one else (no names) Autosure, Protecta, Lumleys, Driveright, Motorplus......there are heaps to choose from
-
I'll also add... the infa red keys dont work from a huge distance like the microwave keys. You need to be reasonably close for it to work, and as Jochen said, point it at the rear vision mirror. If you take the batteries out to get new ones you might have to reinitialise the key/keys

Its been due for some time.... theres so much crap on the market...being sold by idiots
-
The new scanner was the most expensive item
-
Make sure you get a proper pre purchase inspection on it to. Either a dealer or an independent BMW specialist and buy a mechanical warranty as well
-
Tell me about it..... my bills over $16,000 at the moment

Just done a huge workshop computer & software upgrade. Amazing what a few thousand gigs and $$$$$$ do. Weve gone from a 50gig office computer with 512 ram and 19" screen to a 500gig, 4gig ram & 22 inch full HD screen with a further 500gig external hard drive. The workshop has gone from a small 30gig laptop to a 250gig 2gig ram desktop with 20" screen with a further 500gig external hard drive We have also thrown our Bosch KTS 520 scanner into a cardboard box with the small laptop (its all for sale) and now have the very latest bluetooth scanner & 150gig of TIS,ETK & WDS etc software systems for vehicles 1984-2009 Both new computers & scanner are sharing data via wireless & bluetooth What a difference I'm rapped ... no more freezes or crashes .....and the speed is amazing Ive spent a whole week on this, including all of last weekend building the new workstation in the workshop. This WE I'm having a rest & a few beers

It may not have the valve (12)... its either /or 12 or 16

There are 2 special tools to do it properly. A dowel to lock the crank at TDC in the bell housing and a tool that goes over the camshaft to lock it in the correct timing position, firing on No1 cylinder. What are you doing ? have you not got a manual or a copy of TIS ?
-
Are you using a Mercedes manual ?? We can do the whole job in about an hour
-
WTF are you trying to do it in the car for ??
