Have you rechecked your valve clearances ? To do a cylinder leak test, you must turn the engine over in the firing order (153624) so that both valves are closed to leak test each individual cylinder. This can be done with the rocker cover off so that you can see that both valves are closed and both rocker arms are on the back of the cam. This is also the position to check valve clearances which should be set at 10 thous. at the valve, not the camshaft.

Just take the striker of the "B" pillar with the 2 tamper screws and then you can check it
-

No I didnt say that.... I said :Most of the gay drivers I come accross in business drive E34's, E39's & E65's.... I dont think any BMW is a gay car.... at least BMW produces vehicles that appeal to all sorts of people of different gender preferences.... its all about likes/dislikes and what appeals to a particular person.
-
Quite an interesting thread.... however I will agree that most of the vehicles in the above poll are predominantley driven by women and young girls. Doesnt make the car gay... its all about the driver, not the car. Most of the gay drivers I come accross in business drive E34's, E39's & E65's.... that doesnt make me think that those cars are gay though. Wonder if I should start a new thread...... "WHO's GAY" ??? and "WHAT DO YOU DRIVE" ??? and poll that.... that could be interesting ? You could then guage what cars gay people actually drive. Might also bring a few out of the closet. And "NO" I'm not gay... but I do drive a little girls car

Placement of O2 Sensor
*Glenn* replied to Boost Junky's topic in Forced Induction & Performance Tuning
What does your tuner recommend ?? If he knows the set up your running, he should be able to point you in the right dirrection. -
Have you checked valve clearances?? You might not have correct valve clearances. If not..I would do that and see if there is any change to the way the car runs
-
I would try another dealer ..if there is one. The other concern... is there a language barrier ? A dealer should be able to identify the problem
-
He could try the CS sensor...however that may not be the problem. Was it a dealer he took it to ?
-
Happy birthday ya old fart From Glenn & the Team
-
The problem could be a number of things. It may not throw a fault code which only means its not a faulty sensor, it doesnt mean a sensor is reading within scale. If its out of scale & still sending a signal to the DME, it wont throw a code. The scan tool is a tool...you need a brain as well to check live data readings. It could also be a mechanical fault which wont throw fault codes, however live data should indicate where the fault is. Pay my airfares..... I'll go fix it
-
I'd get it checked before driving it around if that's the case, otherwise you'll end up damaging it.
-
Graham (apex)... Bring the car over and let me have a look. I also have a 3.64:1 medium case (E30) diff I can sell you. Dave (silverfox) can probably do you a LSD
-
1999 cars and later, you can check with a scan tool and read oxygen sensor values in live data...pre cat / after cat Pre 1999 cars you can only diagnose when they effect performance and cause other faults to occur
-
Maybe a rewted 4 speed ? (joke)....will look it up later this morning
