True... I forgot about the noob bit It doesnt stay on all the time wired my way. When the ignition is on the light wont flash. When you turn the ignition off the LED gets its earth through the circuit and flashes
-
Another way is to connect the negative to ignition (on) or accessory (on) position and the positive to a permanent positive supply. No relay required
-
I was going to ask you if you had cruise control on... did the cable come out of the grommet on the throttle body and keep the car running at 1/4 throttle?? or was it the CC motor ??
-

I'm aware of the backlash rattle in the gearbox at idle in nuetral.. most manuals make a little noise. I'm not too concerned about it...if it does or doesnt, doesnt worry me
-
Was this reply intended for Me or Westy Cam ?? I'm still unsure about ratio at the moment.... what would you suggest ?? The auto was 1900rpm @ 100kph in top lock up

Costs for doing this conversion: See attached Excell sheet Note: These prices are retail excl Gst These costs will probably vary. However it gives an indication for those interested Manual_conversion_costs.doc Edit: dont take all these part # as the final part number.. some of the parts were supplied wrong. I'll up date this as soon as its sorted.

Good work Dave...its good to see another project on the boards. Looks like we'll be holding alot of peoples interests with what we are doing....makes a good change from arguements
-
The leads dont give problems...they are wire. Just the suppressor caps, dist cap & rotors. We use NGK suppressor caps
-
Not at all... any constructive criticism is appreciated. Some people wont be able to financially afford to do this properly. This. however is how I'm going to do it. I'm only going to do it as I see it .... do it once ....properly

Tell me... I got a real good deal though. Thats retail. Dual Mass is $1900 NZ $ +Gst.. without a clutch kit
-
B&T quoted me $700 +Gst + freight for a Sachs one out of Aussie. That was trade price
-
Thats what I was also going to check for Dan as well. I'm more concerned that the front pulley is actually in faze. TDC may not be TDC on the pulley. If valve clearances are still Ok no damage may have resulted in trying to start the engine. This car was running when I sold it to Dan, appart from the headgasket/ head problem that we all new about. So hopefully there is only something minor wrong.

Ouch !!! $645.71 + Gst For a E34 3.6 M5 clutch plate...$308.31 +Gst for a E36 3.2 M3 pressure plate $499 US$ + freight + Gst at customs for the UUC stage1 flywheel I'll post part numbers and prices tomorrow.. scarey I've been able to negotiate better pricing on what I need, however I'll only be posting retail prices. My buying prices are confidential...... more to follow
-
I'm sure you are spot on... I was thinking the same and told Dan to take the rocker cover off so I could go and have a look...I'm still waiting for a phone call ?
-
Wow... ... just had an email from UUC... special deal.... huge discount
-
I'm guessing around about $4000 for the whole conversion, however I did say it's not going to be a budget job. It'll probably cost me more, and thats without labour costs. We'll just have to see. All I can say at the moment is, its going to be done properly
