Haha... I dont keep secrets... she knows

To do it properly you will need a pan gasket & filter as well... only use G3 full synthetic oil when you do it as well.. if unsure...get a professional to do it for you
-
I'm fairly confident that if the gearbox isnt abused it will stand up to it. Others have done this conversion before. The gearbox was used in E36 318's, 320's, 323's and Z3's

Yes they fit And yes..6 cylinder lowering springs wont lower your car the same amount if its a 4 cylinder because of the weight difference

What proiducts are talking about? What type of car? .. Make?... Model?...Year ?

This mornings work... well some of it. 1st picture shows the 3.15:1 crownwheel & pinion I stripped out of an E28 diff. This is going into my medium case diff with the LSD. 2nd Fitted the clutch fork and release bearing. 3rd Fitted new selector shaft seal. Resealed the detent spring housing. Removed output flange and replaced the seal. Glad I did this..no retainer on the nut, nut was loose and there was no sealant on the shaft splines.. someone else had been there before and fitted a new seal and didnt do it all properly. 4th Made up wiring loom for reverse light switch. 5th... the most important one... I now have 3 pedals

Put my 3 pedals in this morning, heater matrix out (its got a small leak) picked up my 3.15:1 diff thanks to Brent. Stripped the crownwheel and pinion out of the diff (its a good one Brent). LSD comes Monday or Tuesday (thanks to Dave).... more to come & more photos

No.. I'm just doing it that way to make it easier to do...especially the the clutch hydraulic lines. Doing it this way, your not struggling with anything... but you need all the right gear...like we have at work. I like to work standing, not crouching, bending over or laying on my back.

Ouch !!! +1 Crankshaft position sensor

Thanks for that Ron. You have confirmed what I was needing to know. You must have been typing when I was editing. I wrote the wrong engine speeds in there. 245 kph @ 6,500 rpm is enough and will give me what I'm looking for and I'll get there quite alot quicker with what I'm doing. I'm not too worried about fuel consumption. After reading this :http://www.metricmechanic.com/pdfs/metric-mechanic-differential-booklet.pdf I pretty sure the 3.15:1 is the way to go

I'm not sure. Alot of the manufacturers are building the cats into the exhaust manifolds...Merc Audi VW etc.etc

As most of you know, I'm doing a manual conversion on my car. I assumed (bad word) that the Getrag 250G that I'm using was an overdrive gearbox... it's not.Ive checked it.. 5th gear is 1:1. Now that means I have to look at diff ratios. At the moment I'm running a 364:1 which means in top gear at a 100kph the engine will be reving at 3,030. I dont want to go too tall... my choices are : 325:1 @ 2,718 rpm or a 315:1 @ 2,634rpm With the M52B28 and light flywheel I think the right choice is the 315:1 with the LSD. This ratio should give me a calculated top speed of 245 kph Am I right ??

Thats right. Your car also has pre cat and after cat oxy sensors. You cannot remove the cats. If you do... you will destroy the engine.

I dont think so.. Its too wide... but I will check for you and let yo know
