Tension straps are definitely worn and the bar doesn't fold back without assistance but I don't think it is the the issue. It is either the hinge part in the plastic bags or the next hinge part towards the front. Didn't have time yesterday to take photos......but did find part 15 missing on both sides in this diagram http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showparts?id=BB12-EUR-07-1991-E30-BMW-325i&diagId=54_0146

Thanks mate, ill have a read those tomorrow when Im more sober. I had a look today and it would a appear its missing a bolt from a sliding mechanism but i dont think that would affect it. The rear window all folds up ok, it would appear the final quarter of the roof is the part that doesnt work properly. Ive tried undoing a bolt to see if it will collapse properly but have had no joy. Ill take some photos tomorrow

So Im having trouble with my vert roof not collapsing properly into the cavity. It appears there is something in the drivers side mechanism which is stopping it from collapsing. Any idea where to start looking and what I can adjust? It is an electric roof if that helps.

Christchurch. Also need a mid section too

Need a factory or tidy aftermarket exhaust for a facelift 325. Would be keen on ACS or something similar but not picky as I need to get rid of the drone before I go crazy and deaf.

Car is nice, his wheel collection is more impressive.

If I can save up for and service a 300k mortgage on a modest single income, what is stopping a couple on 2 modest incomes doing the same on a 600k mortgage?
-
Doesnt that prove my point? 2 incomes, you can afford twice as much?
-
A house like is well out of any first home buyers so don't buy it. Do you need 3 bedrooms and a big garage? I paid 330k for a 2 bedroom place, single garage, ok but up and coming suburb which has less of what I want but all of what I need. After 5 years I had 30k Kiwisaver, 5k kick start and 15k savings. If you are a couple that is 100k or 20% of a 500k house. Maybe I lucked out. I agree that the process and stories I hear, if true, are not favourable but I still believe housing for a majority of couples, should be affordable.
-
People complaining about house prices. I purchased a house on a single income last year amist some of the highest growth Christchurch has seen . I'd say slightly more than average not like I earn massive amounts. Surely a couple sharing expenses and saving should be able to do the same.

Agnew Brothers are a good place to get the roof sorted. What bits do you need?
-
Should probably update my profile, the daily is a motorsport 530i. Few things to do before I share it but it would be perfect on a day like today (in Christchurch anyway).

Replaced the headunit in the e39 so I can now see what station Im listening too, bought some new seats for the touring and bought a new project for when the touring goes back on the road.
