  1. I dont think its too bad a price either but the reality is that around that price you can have your pick of any number of 540 motorsports. Sure they are older but they are a hell of a lot more car. Its also a very difficult time to sell a car, big down turn last year, just after xmas people just dont have any money. People will also (rightly or wrongly) be put off by it being a Singapore import unfortunately.
  2. Whats the price fella ? As per the forum header. "Items for Sale in here - Must include a price and photo*" Cheers
  3. Call him back and offer him $50 for them. Without getting close up they look the business to me.
  4. What makes you think they arent genuine ?
  5. Possibly anything from $12-13k upwards. Unfortunately the 195k is going to hurt it. Have a look on TM at the various cars and what they are going for. Be aware though that not many of them have sold at their prices. The latest I saw sell was a manual 330 with all the kit and it went for 15k in the end. Dont remember the kms on it though. Also the condition of the interior along with any bodywork scratches arent going to help
  6. Without a shadow of doubt they will. Its not like we havent had any warning I mentioned about three years ago that cameras were on their way to 'read' number plates and here it is finally in the public eye.Anyone with a german plate driving through there should expect a letter.
  7. Id love to see if this goes through. A bloke whos been on TM for years and won his first auction last week. Ill put a fiver on it being for sale next week

Right then, Ive merged the three threads into one but it looks like I failed because BMUU post is no longer at the top, I assume thats because you all beat him to it and posted your messages first. Hopefully its not too much of a mess, sorry BMUU if its screwed things up for you but I thought it would be best to have all the loving threads in one place
  10. Go post 96 and get the 4.4 engine. Im not sure if the US had any trouble with the nikasil linings but the 4.4 is certainly worth the extra. Check out www.e38.org for all you need to know. The basics are the suspension (they are big and heavy cars after all), various gaskets etc, just the usual. Oh and the electrics....make sure you try everything. The US dealers are an awful lot more helpful than over here (and prices are much cheaper) so most people tended to use them for any work but also bought genuine parts for mechanical repairs or cosmetic upgrades. Get any prospective purchase checked out and enjoy it. The motorways over there would be perfect for it. Try and find an imola red 740 sport if you can
  11. Arros, Im pretty sure Ive said this before but dont be seduced by the price. Yes its cheap but it could be cheap for a very good reason. There are dozens of 540's for sale out there and you need to find one with a seller who has nothing to hide. It may well be that this one is sweet but the seller is not making it an easy decision for you. The real question is probably 'are you willing to pay less with the possibility of spending a couple of grand in repairs' or would you rather pay a little more to a seller who answers your questions openly, is happy to help with a pre purchase inspection and a car that doesnt raise the questions that this one has.
  12. Two words SimonDO IT !
  13. Must only be the special ones amongst us then Im still curious to know where Jugla has entered e39 528i for it to show up where it is.
  14. Thats an interesting response Glenn, when my airbag sensor went (and so the light came on) I was told by both the dealer and Page European down here that it was perfectly safe to drive whilst we waited for a replacement from Germany. The idea being that if any part of the SRS system fails the whole system gets shut down and the only difference would be that the airbags wouldnt trigger if you had an accident. Its very common for the SRS light to be triggered by a faulty passenger seat sensor thats a relatively very easy DIY fix. There is plenty of information out there about it for you to read sabbath but of course having it hooked up to the computer should give you the answer straight away.
  15. My controls > Edit Profile Information At the top you have a box with your name and your car. What you type here apears under your avatar on the forum and in here you must have "Prado 3.0Diesel turbo". The second panel is personal information and you scroll about half way down to Mods List. This is what will show up on your own personal profile page it will not show up under your avatar and is related to your car above. The next one down is Car 2 and you must have "e39 528i" in here. The next one is Car 3 and its empty. Ive just tested it with my priofile and its all working fine.
  16. Go into My Controls, then Edit Profile Information on the left and scroll down to the Mods List, for each of your cars.
  17. Its a prepaid phone with no proof of who owns it. Why should they believe you guys are the owners in the first place ? Anyway, back on topic please. I absolutley hate companies putting stickers on my cars. I had Beaurepairs swap some wheels for me on the touring and when I went out to pick it up I had THREE stickers on the car, front side and rear. I gave them what for and they were still reluctant to take them off. Only when I threatened to invoice them them $1000 a month for 'advertising' did they take them off....muppets.
  18. Im with David. Ive been watching m535's for some time now and they rarely sell for anything more than 7k no matter how good they look. Always interested if you want to buy a touring Dont people know these days that one person bidding small amounts but stopping once they get within 15% is just someone phishing for the reserve?
  19. But which of these 'suggestions' do you object to Bravo ? Personally I agree with all of them. If you caught being a w4nker then you should face the consequences and each one of the above points mentioned in the article has its merits.
