  1. Thats what I thought, do you know if its fixable ?
  2. A few weeks ago my tv screen got a straight blue line down one side of it (about a third of the way from the edge). I wasnt that bothered about it thinking, Ill sort that later. But yesterday I got a think red on the other side of the screen I cant find anything easily on the web, but does anyone know if this means the screen is on its way out and needs replacing ? I havent replaced any cables or anything recently but I have had a play with Jochens NavCoder software to turn the tv on all the time
  3. Looks great, especially in red. A tech-1 wing would just set it off nicely
  4. What weve found in the past is that the 'purists' tend to get a little pi$$ed off with being played with over a price. I can understand that you dont want people offering to swap 17' chromes etc, but nothing will put them off more than an actual price. It really is quite simple, if you want an auction then stick them on trademe. If you have a price in mind then lets have it. As for my valuation, yes they are difficult to get in NZ and yes they may have been $14k when new over a decade ago. But as Ive found with any large wheels in NZ they rarely go for what the seller believes they are worth and more often than not sell for a tiny fraction of the original asking price. Last year I watched a set of 18's go from $3500 to $800 in the space of six months and even then they sat at $800 with no reserve for a couple of auctions. Thanks to Simon I have them sitting in my garage now Not having tyres is going to also dent the sale price somewhat, god knows how much it would cost to wrap 20's. Anyway, got any photos of the Breytons your after ? Ive seen several e32's and e38's with large 'Magics' on them and they have looked superb.
  5. The stripes are Schnitzer Paul, the only thing Alpina are the wheels. My understanding is that because Schnitzer dont do 20's that when the 'S7' came out you could have the Alpinas instead.
  6. Experience has shown that 'expressions of interest' rarely get any responses. If your serious about selling either put up a price or post a link to a trademe auction. I could be interested for the right price, although I already have a set of 18's As an aside, Id love to know why your selling the wheels so soon after picking the car up for a bargain price ? Did it need new tyres and they are just too expensive ? Seems a shame to be breaking up a car that looks rather nice so quickly.
  7. Prices for the following please.... front seats, shame they are not heated, but I wonder if I can transfer my 'elements' to these ? radio computer if a NZ one (although not sure if its any good to me having a 2000) left wing mirror outer and inner cover, Im pretty sure there are two one painted one black, but I really need a titan silver one ! front bumper trim around number plate (would love a uk wide one) Cheers Martyn
  8. I just found the July issue in my local place and it was only a tenner. But Ive only spent on hour reading this one so far and Im almost done, its so thin They usually have the 'airfreighted' issues too, but you have to be fast to get them and they are about $18. Obviously the airports charge a decent whack on top because its not like you can get it from anywhere else is it !
  9. hehe, I was looking for a solution this today aswell for my touring! Best I can find on the web is to remove the covers on the top, turn on the lights and go for a drive. If you decide to just leave your lights on whilst your at home, dont leave it too long cause you'll end up with a flat battery ! Ultimately though, the water must either be getting in or not being allowed to get out of it. Apparantly there is a hole in the e39 headlights that can get blocked but Ill be buggered if I can find it.
  10. Any of the Dutch hockey team.....all of them 6' plus, all blonde, all gorgeous in those skin tight white outfits....zeer mooi !
  11. 2500 was not a lot of money, but from the photos he sent me, rust would be a worry. Hope its someone on here though, would be nice to see more of it.
  12. The number of watchers means nothing, I had over 200 on my ipod but only half a dozen that put a bid in. Same with this, only two of you appeared to be seriously bidding on the car. For something as rare as this I wouldnt have thought a couple of hundred to get it transported would really have been an issue.I think youve bought a brilliant car so please dont think Im trying to run it down. All Im saying is that here is a car that lots of people have said is worth plenty of money but its actually gone for a perfectly reasonable sum. There were a couple of people on the auction telling him it was too cheap but with only two people bidding, the market of buyers is obviously a very small one and I think a true market value has been found. Good luck with the paint restoration, it will look stunning when finished
  13. Yeah I saw it got a new wof, for 2500 its almost worth the gamble. At the very least you could flog the gearbox for a reasonable price should it fall apart. However there is one word that keeps coming into my mind......rust
  14. Showed it to my wife this afternoon and she asked when I was flying down to buy it !! She absolutely loves it.....have to be honest, I am tempted
  15. You might struggle to get 1k for the kit just because its BBS and they really are a matter of taste but having the entire kit is half the problem solved. Personally I think you'd get 1k for the wheels easily. There are plenty of people who are more than prepared to pay good money for items like that. If I was in the market for them Id pay a grand, especially if they were in good nick.....assuming they are 16's of course
  16. Interesting that there were only two people bidding and it only went for 6k. I appreciate there arent very many of these left, but has this auction finally shown the true value of these cars? There are plenty of people saying they are worth alot more, but that doesnt appear to be the case does it?
  17. I dont think there has been a week gone by that I havent looked at all the photos on the auction and thought about giving it some stick on a fine sunny day
  18. I have a set of 15' basketweaves to get rid of....I had plans but they have now changed They are in reasonable condition with the usual kerbing. Im very fussy and certainly wouldnt describe them as mint but I have seen alot worse. One center cap is missing and the badges need replacing but thats no big deal these days. They need a good clean but some soapy water and elbow grease will work wonders. There are four tyres on them, three are in excellent condition, not far off new actually but I cant remember the brand. I dont think the other wouldnt pass a wof, but its on there all the same. I also bought a set of four Bridgestone Grid II's to go on them and these are all in great condition with lots of tread. They do have what appears to be heat cracks in the tread but I was assured they were perfectly legal and Ive seen much worse. I want $900 for the whole lot (weaves and all 8 tyres), but am open to offers to split them up if you only want the weaves or the four Grid II's. Preferably to be picked up but your free to organise your own freight. Ill try to get some photos done tonight, but its raining again and Im sure you all know what they look like !
  19. 16' Alpina.....'nuff said. Ill dig out some pics if you want.
  20. So errrrrr, who's going to have a look for us then
  21. Jeremy, stop trying to start a fight. If the bloke wants to chop and change his cars every five minutes thats up to him. Im personally getting a little tired of the TM threads were people with nothing better to do just start stiring the pot. There is no reason to lock this thread if everyone plays nice.
  22. Yes, they were from a coupe in the first place I think
  23. Drivers seat is knackered, passenger seat is all good, just in pieces.Wouldnt have thought you would be popping around since Im in Wellington
