Youve all seen the trademe discussion threads. A good looking car in great condition but someone instantly points out it has 'high' kms. So come on then, at what point do you start to worry about the kms and more importantly why? Ive mentioned before the magic 100000 number, in the UK its miles and here is kms. But in reality that are incredibly far apart so why that number? Personally it depends on the car. I know that e39's and e38's start to need the odd repair at 160-180k kms but if the car has been well looked after there is no reason why it cant do twice that. Ive seen plenty of e32's with over 250k miles that drive, handle and look better than our five year old Focus. and yes, Jez Im looking at you mate. 114k on an M5, pfffft. So at what point do you start to think, oh thats a 'high' milage ?

114k is only just run in

It does look mint, but I really do think you will struggle at that price simply because of the current market. Ive had very littlle interest in mine and its a few years younger, with only 99k kms and full leather interior with all the fruit

I think you'll find that MarkI and II were 95 and 96, perhaps a year later but certainly not 99. I can confirm that they do work though if you have either of those units.

I think Ive got two older tbmw's that have the 2.7 build in them, one details the 2.8 build as well I think.

Ok then contradiction time.If the charges go up every year, where is the surprise they have gone up again and why is it WIDELY reported that charges havent increased for 18 years ? And when was the last time you went shopping? My groceries have gone up nearly 40% the last twelve months thanks to increased delivery costs, and your trying to tell me my g&t stays at the same price for long periods of time thanks to the goodness of the truckies?....give me a break. Trucks cause the majority of the damage and spew out the majority of the toxins into the air, so why shouldnt they share the cost of that ? Look, Ill be the first to admit I dont know a great deal about the whole trucker/company relationship but are you telling me the truckers sign a 'fixed price' contract with the company and then have to cover the brunt of any potential changes in the economy.....in the current market with oil hitting new prices, are they stupid ? It sounds to me like the problem is between the truckes and the companies they work for rather than the government putting up prices. If youre a trucker, how about you tell us just how it is, I wouldnt mind hearing it from the source and and more than happy to be proven wrong, but Im sorry, Im fed up with people complaining about how were supposed to fix the road, provide renewable energy etc and then cry foul when they are hit with higher charges or find a wind farm going up.

You dont need to get the phone activated 'in store' or sign up for a two year plan and there are plenty of ways to unlock it when you get it here.

What Ive heard so far (from someone within vodafone) is that we will be suprised by the phone's price (ie it will be cheaper than expected) and secondly that they are not going to be limited to 'iphone only' plans. Until the details are officially released though Im taking everything I hear with a grain of salt. This looks interesting though. Aussie prices are double that of the other countries for the subsidised phone for example. iphone price rundown

I have to admit the moment they broke out the G&T was one of the funniest moments Ive seen in the Top Gear show. It was absolute class when Jezza asked if Captain Slow had any ice....the split second of silence before he realised what he'd said was priceless.

Im not a fan either. NZ has become the 'user pays' capital of the world and as the trucks spew out more rubbish and cause more damage than the rest of us put together why shouldnt they pay? There hadnt been an increase in 18 years previous to the last one either so there is some serious catching up to do. I wish my mortgage, groceries and petrol had been fixed at the same prices as 18 years ago. They are simply going to pass the increase on anyway so whats the problem for them? I dont buy into the rubbish about it taking 12-15 months to pass the increase on either. Theyre' not hanging about raising prices due to petrol increases are they? Having said all that, I too had a record drive in today. I was all set with my heated seats, climate control and tv but 15 minutes from door to desk....so maybe they should strike more often.

All of that goes completely against everything Ive heard so far though. Apple now has a worldwide policy for the price of phones. The Aussie and UK prices are the same as the US prices so how would the vodafone get away with pricing the phone five times more than elsewhere? For too long the prices of phones here have been exhorbitant and finally a manufacturer has decided to follow the practice elsewhere in the world of subsidising the cost of the phone for a cut of the monthly rental. Why release a phone with the funcationality of the 3g iphone and restrict the plans to something thats make them useless ? Grant, you dont need to join the AT&T market in the US to get the phone working in NZ. Its not actually that hard to get an iphone from the US Apple store, get it sent ocer here and get it running. You can get one going for about $600 so I say again, why would vodafone charge twice what you can do it for yourself ? Carl, just shows how little you know about it mate ! Its not just a phone, its a phone, an ipod, a sat nav, a games console, a camera (although its a poor one) and the missing link to have all your email, calendar and contacts seemlessly synchronised.

No I didnt get the tinted ones just the clear/crystal indicators for the e38. I dont think Ive seen a tinted set of those actually. I got mine from Jeff Grey. They had given me a price before and it was 850 and I worked out I could get them off ebay for 450. When I finally did it I was in Jeff Grey for something else and casually asked the price to be told it was 425 and they had them in stock so I just gave him my credit card and kept my mouth shut. Im sure he charged me the single price by mistake but I wasnt hanging around to find out.

Yeah, Ive seen all of those thank mate, but there has been nothing new released since 10th June and I want to know whats going on. I know vodafone will be having trouble with their billing systems and if the price of the phone is as expected then its going to blow everything else they are trying to sell out of the water, so whats going on ? Do they have any idea on what its going to cost and what plans it will be released on or not ?
-
Any of our people 'in the business' know whats going on here ? Vodafone seem to be in complete disarray with how the price structure is going to mess up all their other phones and plans and I want to know what its going to cost and what plans will be offered with it. Please dont tell me to call Vodafone, their CSR's know less than I do and I work for the competition !

Ahhh so they do do something other than drain power, they cut emissions. What about all the problems you claim they cause. There must be thousands of people on here with them but only a handful of people who have had trouble. Im not trying to pick a fight, just wanting some stats to back up your comments that they do nothing but cause problems.
