Guys, as Jochen said: BMWorkshop in Auckland CAN reprogramme the radio in the E60 from Jap to NZ, but to my knowledge - they are the only place in the country that can.
Also as Jochen rightly says: Band expanders in BMW's are crap!
-
Yep, as James Allen said - Second fastest car there on the day. Starting now to show signs of being serious competition for the other two
-
Aaron, press & hold R/H reset button in dash cluster until in service mode, release & press again to required number
-
Sounds like a slipping clutch in the starter - in not familiar with then probably not a DIY - best see an auto sparky
-
Hey watch it Paul - Pajero, truck, trailer, load binders - your'e letting our new mobile chassis straightening machine out of the bag - we need to patent the design first
-
I think someone was filming it.
yeah got the car home ok, John Hudson gave me a tow behind his bmw 2002 race car, what a legend! we got some funny looks but it didn't even struggle.
Good on you, bet you got some looks OK, bloody long way to be towed!

send me the video
send me the video
send me the video
that chassis alignment machine was awesome
Should patent that one I reacon.
Not sure who got video of it but would be a laugh to see it.
Ollie - you get car home OK?
-
HB Paul you sly OLD dog, good luck for tomorrow.
Great luck you wished him David
but at least we were able to fix it for him aye - even if rather unorthodox panel beating skills were used
-
Yep, PM me. Cheers

Hi, Short answer: Nav -no, not cracked at this stage, radio - maybe - where are you located?

PMed.

The overhead display is a warning display only - NOT an OBC (on board computer)
You say -no anologue clock - yours obviously digital - does it have - (from memory) about 9 buttons on it below the display? - if so it is an OBC & the beep could well be the ice warning as previously mentioned - this can happen when the sensor (around L/H front fog lamp area) fails.

Bloody classic!!

All classics, cheers guys

Depending on the noise - it may be the starter hanging in mesh somehow or a dry bush in the front starter bracket cause a buzzzzzz (as you describe) noise on windown. The first senario would be a much harsher noise.
Getting closer now though.
Take a note from this though - if one bolt doesen't line up - there is a reason:-

We have an injector cleaning machine at work
With it you can flush, check flow rates & compare, check spray pattern, check for leakdown. Then put in ultrasonic bath
Yes, they should be serviced, but usually aren't, normally replace seals, pintel caps & filter baskets at the same time
As Ollie said - around $25 -30 per injector (seals vary in price)
No need to replace unless they cant be bought back to spec
Well worth doing - most times an improvement will be noticed
-
Another thought - have you fitted the backing plate between engine & box?
-
Thanks for sending that through.
From the information on the spreadsheets, It seems my cars been changed around a bit since it left the factory...
0201 - Seed-Oil Methylester - Version RME - I have no clue what that is or means...
0215 - Power Steering, Variable ratio - Variable ratio?
0300 - Central Interlocking, Electrical
0311 - BMW Light Alloy Wheel / Star Spoke 69 Brilliantine - Mine has the Hartge 15x7's on there
0350 - Tinted Glass Green - I havent noticed a green tint to my glass?
0400 - Sliding Lifting Roof Manual
0497 - Rear Center Armrest
0812 - England Export
0850 - Additional Fuel tank - I dont have one
I think you will find all E30's have a tint - either brown or green although only subtle
BTW Cheers Cain for the info - very interesting

Not sure what you have done here. If spacer was on crank side then flywheel would be further away & make the problem worse -starter pinion mesh would be shallower.
Starters are the same - manual to auto & early (big) to late (small) -either fit all.
Pinion size is smaller on late unit but it is offset closer to center in front bracket so meshes the same.
One thought - Did the flywheel seat properly when bolting up to the crank?

put a post up a few weeks ago about the best way to do the clutch on my e30 325i.
from what responce i got you guys made it sound like it was hard.
a hoist a rattle gun and a few sockets and extenstions and the flywheel was down the road at bnt in 30 min. no messing round with dropping engine mounts or subframes.
but anyway to the point.. while its out im going to do the gearbox oil. what are the recomendations for oil to use?
ive got some 75w90 hanging around. would this be ok or is this a little too thin?
Who said manuals were hard? - its the auto's that are a pain.
I use Castrol VMX 5 speed - seems good

My drivers side indicator blinker has stopped working, I have tried 3 different bulbs and still no go.
Im not the best with electronic things so does anyone have any idea how to fix it or why it wont be working?
Or should I just take it to a auto sparky and just let them deal with it?
Are both ends out or just one? Both could indicate switch or similar, if only one then wiring to or connection/ bulb connections - or 3 crook bulbs....
if no luck & not really sure what you are dong - probably best to see a sparky - probably only a 10 min fix
Cheers

im not too happy at the moment. i got a letter through this morning from bp fuels. they have a picture of me filling my car at bp in lower hutt. and they claim that i was incorectly charged. and that i owe them $64.40 wich is about 48l of 91 octane.
now for starters i run my car on 98 not 91. and i only ever put 20 bux in at a time. and i have the bank statement to show that.
now i am wondering what kind of records the station keeps? like how much of what fuel came out of a pump at a specific time?
and can they look back at the transactions and see that i paid for 20 bux of 98 octane? and can they tell by the cctv what fuel i used and how much i put in?
cheers.
oli
Bloody a..holes!! - what a cheek, I would certainly be wanting them to "prove it was me" & show them your evidence to combat theirs.
Good luck!

Oh sh*t is right!!

100w and you will be blinding every other driver on the road, dipped or not.
Not entirley true, sure 100w are brighter but it is the glare that dazzles oncomers. If set correctly on a beamsetter - the 100's dont create any more glare than 55 (can measure this on beamsetter meter)
Agreed though OE headlights are fine when clean, (inside & outside) if they arent, no matter what size bulb -you fit wont fix light output.
Also agreed - DONT fit higher wattage bulbs, you may be able to improve on standard halogen however by fitting zenon ultras - still 55w but whiter brighter light output than standard
Another second!!!
