Don't go Monroe in Euro. I did this years ago in the E12 when the OEM's were buggered & I didn't know better. Fixed compared to the originals but handling is nothing flash. They are still in there but the car is no rocket ship & is hardly used so no real issue. Would never use again though. KYB, Koni, or even Boge - usual OEM are options I would consider

Absolutely dark day for everyone down there & the whole of NZ for that matter. Good luck to all down there, can only imagine what you are going through. Going to be a long road out of this one

Aftermarket HID's are illegal As Darren said - go for Philips Extreme, Hella Ultra or similar.

Looks like a high specced Jap car. If it checks out ok - go for it. It has toys that can be got going too - nav etc You can even run the PS2 in the car too -
Looks sharp Brian - even for an E36

Sorry but BLAA YUK! Still can't get used to the E39 version

Dave - it is on here. Nav - NO - not just a disc, requires a totally different system for here - a CCC in the dash & then serious coding - basically rewriting the "vehicle order" to tell the Jap car it now has Euro nav. I am aware of some horror stories with people that have tried this but also know it is doable. I understand radio can be reprogrammed with specfic coding - not recognised by BMW NZ though. TV - haven't played with an E60 system - the earlier cars have world programmable video modules "Remning" on here has experience with this in vehicles with "MOST" system.

Yes but it is tacky in comparison to this version. I have fitted one of those to a Range Rover - this one is so much more discrete - & half the price. Also with what you have already done to your car - fitting this is a walk in the park to you. Also looks more discrete than the OEM E39 version camera system

Shite Jason - love your attention to detail with pics. Maybe I'm a bit optomistic in presuming everyone can follow my written instruction for install
-
Got one here all ready to go Tristan if you want
-
If you fit TV - you can also add a separate DIN mount DVD (with remote) unit to connect via video module AV input

^^^^^^ yep to above

Thought yours would be in by now Josh Easy as - a few screws & clips & they're out. Give me a shout when you're ready

**URGENT** Jap E65 745i TV, NAV, TUNER to NZ conversion **URGENT**

Oh I am so surprised - not! The statement "Told you so" comes to mind You asked & I thought I was being helpful & spelling out all the variables from my experience- you chose to ignore. Think I can safely say - can't imagine BMW in Auckland can help (apart from the connector pins) most of the dealers don't even know that Jap ibus vehicles can be converted. Oh bugger - need another supply of popcorn -
I guess they can only hang their hat on the all rear wheel drive (bar Mini) lineup in their range

Old as you feel Dave

How old are you Dave - Mk1 or 2 Cortina?
-
Ahh but the name lives on aye

You obviously cannot read OR choose to disregard somone with experience in these situations I may as well have saved my time in responding. I won't bother offering anymore advice to you. Good luck - me thinks you'll need it Edit: I'm off to find a big supply of popcorn - this is going to be interesting -
Best of luck Josh. Have a good time.

Bit of a bugger Dave when racing commitments influence other toys & the plans for them. Good luck with sale

With respect - as I (& Matt) have already said - it is NOT straight forward & Definitely not plug & play. The Jap nav system in general is alien to the rest of the world. Adding to, the early Jap E65's (again as I have said) have a "Hybrid" system (unlike Euro version) where they are idrive MOST system but run the older Jap ibus nav unit. They soon after changed to a full MOST system - albeit Jap spec & vastly different to Euro. This why I said yours could be one of two:- You say it hads a DVD nav unit - this makes it the earlier one. Relating again to my first post - I am still in the throws of researching the "doability" into this in another car the same - not yet sure of if it can or for that matter - viability Retrofitting the nav unit is not the issue (still not plug/play)- have done that - getting the Euro ibus nav unit to "talk" to the MOST system is. This because the Euro spec E65 came with a full MOST system from the start- so no interfacing the two - as with the Jap. You say radio is programmed for here? - As Matt said - it must be a programmable radio. I have not played with one to know. You also say digital TV tuner - if this is the case - it might not be good for here. The Euro digital tuner is different to NZ & no good here. You will have to have a play & see. -
Jim, as I originally said at the time - a Mk4 is streets ahead of the Mk3. So is 16:9 too. Both plug play - just need $$$$
