Same wheels as me Chris. Mine all 18 x 8 too - a BBS wheel Yours are obviously shadow chrome like mine - darker than a lot of them out there & look better for it. Are yours just flat spotted? They can be repaired. Two of mine are also very slightly flat spotted (Bloody roads around here!)- must get them fixed sometime. Was told of when having them balanced last time. Can't see or feel them so as yet haven't got fixed - the "to do" list
-
^^^^^ Clear is reverse, red is rear fog. Obviously only have one of each. Personally I reacon they look silly
-
Some will be load sensing whereas some wont. The "add on" angel eye rings that I got for mine a few years back (earlier lights) have ballasts to mimmick the orginal bulb. Even some of this type were not load sensing. As Matt said - the LCM monitoring can be turned off with Navcoder etc

DONT sell Ian - unless you HAVE to. So much work/$$$$ gone into it. Unless you are not coming back that is:-

^^^^^ Yep is great how these cars can be bought up to modern spec. Regards monitor upgrade: 16:9 Monitor is plug/play for 4:3 You WILL need to also replace the video module to a 16:9 version - this is plug play too I did this in my 99 car a few years ago - a great upgrade. Can thoroughly recommend. Tis a cost involved though. I can help you out if you wish Chris. I have previously supply a person who has a Jap 1996 E38 750i with widescreen/video module update, nav conversion & reverse camera. Bringing the car right up to modern spec.

Loving the attention to detail here

TV in motion - what's that Matt? I went to TV the other night on the way home from awards dinner. Got the "viewing while in motion is not permitted" screen I must have F#@&ed up the setting the last time I programmed a nav unit in the car... which reminds me

Wheel bearings - not really a driveway job. They will require pressing off/on Rear main - either engine or gearbox out to access. No you don't need to drop the crank.
-
Yep, Jap nav unit was system II in vehicles from around 00/01 Yours being 02 should have a world tuner. I can guide you through things Edit Jap system II is of no realivence to MK2

Mike, I never heard back from you. I thought you said your car was a 2003. Contact me & I can go through options.
-
Quite likely - will be on offside (divers side) if only one. Also fog light will be single filament bulb - in it's own position. I can't off hand remember which lamp position is fog.

I concur on the CV subject. I understand that if not already, WOF failure of split boots is in the pipeline. Glenn or someone in the know, if they see may confirm:- And so it should be. I remember a few years back, a mate of mine's Legacy had a CV joint implode while he was driving - gave him a hell of a fright - almost threw him of the road, which when I drove the car - I could imagine. Phoned me thinking his car had fallen apart, I went & rescued him & car - to find the drivers front CV had imploded. This was at that stage a well maintained car albeit with a split boot.

HB old fella. Catch up with you in the drink shout line tomorrow

Hi Mike, Yep, as above - your Jap car uses an infra red remote system as opposed to the Euro/NZ spec that uses RF - a much superior system as far as range. The receiver is in the clown nose on the mirror. you need to be fairly direct in aim & close to the car. As far as the key - you have the earlier key - the round button is lock, the rectangular is unlock. N.B. As remote batteries lose their strength - the reception/range becomes even more crap.

Me too further left than expected. Surely must be slanted or.... you guys to the right must be very right
-
You changed the most unlikely thing first. Check the fuel pump relay - is it switching power to green/purple wire while cranking? If so - check power is getting to the fuel pump = if it has power & earth & is not working - faulty pump

Don't know as I haven't tried on the BMW's but... maybe immobilisation activates after a time frame (some cars do) - eg - after it has gone to sleep & woken

I'm with Greg on that particular Lexus. I have driven numerous others over the years & some have been very nice cars. They do polarise me though (as do a lot of Jap cars)- some look bloody terrible - look rice or wannabe Euro. Buying that car from Turners - I would be careful if it's history & current mechanical condition cannot be varified -It is a very complex car & could potentially be a can of worms that someone is getting rid of. On the other hand - it could be a very good car. Just remember - lots of people quit dodgy cars at the auctions. But equally - plenty of great cars sell through them too. On the NZ new v Jap topic - I am on the fence with that one. I bought in a Jap E39 myself with varified low milage, matching service history documented/recorded. I have proven it to be correct. 5 yrs & 80k later - car is still mint & has not had any issues as yet nor showing signs of. That said - there is plenty of dodgy crap having come in from Japan. Also, as a rule the ex Jap Beemers tend to have higher spec of goodies. I stress again - before purchasing I would drive some different models to gain a preference AND get it checked!

Will be a total "lucky dip" with any S/H battery As above - get a new one!

Nup - not being a pain. Questions to those who know are always good. As I & others have said - drive different cars to get a feeling of them - they vastly different between models & even same vehicles at times. That one looks quite a nice car, again another 4 cyl 318. If you want some comparison to Lexus - I suggest you look at 6 cyl engines (whatever model). BMW make some of the best 6's in the business. My reason for suggesting you were lokking at extremes was that one minute it was a V8, the next a 4 cyl. And I repeat - Golden Rule - get it checked by a BMW expert BEFORE you purchase. You say you are in Botany - go & see Glenn (forum sponsor) at Botany Motor Works with any car you intend to purchase. Before you do this though - I seriously suggest you drive a few vehicles first to decide what you may like.
-
Yep Dean - know what you mean. Each to their own I spose
-
Obviously people do - they sold WTF anyone would though amuses me Edit sp

Hi Sagar. Personally I don't like that particular Lexus - looks wise. Regards BMW - you do seem to be skipping to extremes of models/engine sizes. As Allan has said - decide on something you are interested in, drive a few vehicles to get a feel for them, then once you have found one - get it checked by a BMW dealer or notable BMW repairer (of which there are quite a few) Where are you situated?

^^^^^^^ agreed.. No one would want to be on the receiving end of that stunt. As above - TM is a case of supply/demand. I have found this on a few occasions with things that I know have a specific value that I am not prepared to give/throw away - with eventually a buyer requiring the part. That said, you may find yourself with a specific market here though - unless these are a somewhat generic Renault parts fitting other models too. In this case it's rarity can count against you.

Not me sorry. Too low - wheel/guard looks out of proportion to me. The Z4 pics you posted though - certainly looks the the go
