Jack, it sounds as if you are going around in circles here. As per my PM's with you last night - phone me to get a diagnosis procedure
-
But Dan - you are talking brake couplings - arent you? I have not seen a standard coupling as dual fit - not that I remember anyway
-
Great footage, car sounds great
-
Yep have heard of that but never experienced it. Either way - a simple job to replace them - certainly while system is out of the car Replacing hoses - I reacon it's for upselling. If a hose is ok then it's ok Edit - sp

Q & A $4K - What an insult!

Jack: Does it have spark at the plug leads? Does the fuel pump momentarily prime when you first turn the key on before cranking? Fuel lines run along the L/H side to the front - quite obvious. One is return - via the pressure regulator diaphram at the front of the engine. The other comes from the filter & connects to the rail - disconnect this & see if fuel flows when cranking. If both are good (& you have done nothing else since last running) my bet is that it's flooded - remove the plugs & check if wet - if so - thorougly dry, disconnect spark, crank the engine at wide open throttle for several seconds, refit the plugs & start - hopefully:-

HB Russell, hope its been a good one

A lot of miss information about this. Yes illegal to use R-12 still R-12 to R-134 is straight forward - degas & regas That said, receiver drier should be replaced & probably flush the system too. R-134 have different filling ports but simply screw on the R-134 retrofit adapters - even this is not necessary if using R-12 style couplings on the gauge hoses As above reply - R-134 is the modern equivelent

Yep, Japan market E39 2.5l M52's & M54's were badged as 525i, Euro variants as 523i. Jap badging actually makes sense in this case really.

Welcome Tony & nice car Not that I'm biased Yes, from the VIN code, your car is 05/2002 build so DOES have a world radio. PM me & I will send you the progamming sequence. Don't know how many of these cars I have come across now with band expanders when they are not needed. As above - I can sort out the nav, you can programme the TV, (can do "in motion" if you wish) & also fit a neat reverse camera - the car is already equipped for this adition:- Sooooo much better than a Honda aye EDIT CD stackers are a weak link. They are an Alpine unit, can be repaired ok. Reminds me - must get mine fixed. Phone system is Jap but I have converted the system in one car to ULF Bluetooth. Had already done the nav in this car & with Bluetooth - got voice control nav too - really cool:) But expensive
-
Completely doable but quite a job. Requires obtaining an air con version heater assy, & removing the dash to change them over. Running the lines Fit pump Fit condenser, fan, etc Wiring the system. Just get the complete system from a donor car. Certainly nice to have & if your car is the "right one" then probably worthwhile - depends if you can do some of the donkey work - the job is straight forward enough but realively labour intensive.

Has the car got OEM Nav/TV? -
Not wrong, add to that the computer knows when every bolt has been fitted & torqued

Matt, yes straight brown is earth, can't remember the others specfically but none sound like true power. Best run to behind the glovebox & I would think you should be able find a purple/white which is acc. You don't want it on straight battery or you will have to turn it off every time
-
I fitted one of these two or three years back. At the time of buying I was unaware of the different frequencies but but before fitting, I checked the frequency of our door. Was a fluke that it was the same frequency as the US spec UGDO - 3??? mhz - can't remember exactly. I THEN cut the hole to mount it. Yep Greg - I would say it is a long shot - probably only mine & those above in the country. Have you checked your door to confirm it is infact 433mhz?

^^^^ This man is right, they are a different composition to the stud to help avoid siezing
-
Dunno, quite possibly but standard Jap phone system in them was different to ROW
-
Yes but yours is Jap origin - isn't it? If so - a different phone system to here With factory bluetooth - add factory nav & you get voice control nav too
-
Jack you can cross the manual steering rack off the list - not overly necessary. I, & a lot of others, still run the power rack - I have simply removed the belt from the pump. The power rack is a faster rack than the manual so arguably more suited for racing. I have a spare manual rack but have never fitted it

He needs 15x7 for race series

E30 factory radio Removal: Two tabs either side - flick them open & find an allen key to loosen, once all four are loosened - the unit will slide out -
Yep, you more on to those than I so obviously 18's right through. That said - the couple of F/L 18's I have had - both been vented
