Aye - Why so soon Tristan?
-
Needs doing as I have described to you - with the correct software
-
^^^^^ That sort of pricing would make sense. Probably the person remembers what they paid for it new - hense trying to recoup
-
Yea - not too uncommon. Personally I hate the E46 Ti - each end looks fugly to me - particually the front Reacon the price is somewhat OTT too. That said - is a good example
-
You reacon - tis a nice car. Just got another Terrano for work ute BUT was an auto (decent condition manuals are llike rocking horse s..t around here. So, just spent a couple of days raiding the 5 speed from the wreck & converting it Biggest p..s off was having to remove both dashes to be able to remove & replace the pedal box
-
What year is your car? - Dictates the method. Cars with second generation video modules (09/98 >) require coding to enable. Previous can be done by method you mention. I can help if you wish - PM me OBD connection - again depending on year >2000 are round pin OBD plug under the bonnet. Post 2000 are OBD2 inside the car Edit: Sorry - just woken up Your car is 01
-
Happy birthday mate, catch you in a couple of weeks
-
Na, the E30

Clutch doesn't come out with cam belt replacement - why remove the engine for that? It can be done in situ easily. What else was planned for the engine then? Why not do all now while it is apart? BTW if clutch not near the rivits then still has good life in it
-
Ahh... but red cars are fast aren't they Dan
-
Not blinded by BMW badge Wasn't specifically meaning these cars. Yes the Aussie cars are quick but they are still from big capacity dinosour engines. I am thinking back to originally Jag's, then Sierra's then Nissan Godzilla - all beating the best of Aussie cars at the time. Oops they are banned, funny that. Guess they had to protect their market though:- I am sure others could/can raise their game to the platform if/when required & probably using less capicity with more technology. I can't wait to see it open up again
-
^^^^^ Ahh my ex car again, albeit slightly modified & new plates since last time he had it advertised
-
My race car is third party, fire/theft for $16K - costs about $120 pa
-
Easy to police Jon - simply include third party as requirement in registration. Then - no rego - car off the the road - no questions! I couldn't give a toss for them, I am sick of muppets driving around with no insurance & causing grief to others. If they can't afford the car + insurance - then walk!! Take responibility! Can't really see that repair numbers will go up - third party & own fault will mean no claim on that vehicle. Insurance is a grudge purchase that I hate as much as anyone but reality is - it is a fact of life
-
To a point yes. My work ute was only third party fire/theft because of the realitively low value - about $5k. Insurance is paying us for it due to not being my fault... but they are cap in hand to recover costs from the guy that hit me.

Have heard of that fix before, also Ajax, but never tried either. When does it blow smoke? On start up & under acceleration after high manifold vacuum (deceleration - down hill) If so - likely valve stem seals - have probably gone hard. I had this scenrio with the E12 (also M20) when I bought it in the mid 90's. It was a similar vehicle - one owner 80ish kms, pristine car, 16 yrs old at the time & smoked badly in above description. Replaced the stem seals (in situ) & never a problem since. As Ollie said - hotter plugs won't help
-
No insurance - no sympathy. The sooner this country wakes up & makes compulsory third party insurance the better. I had some F..ken muppet hit me a few weeks back - writing off my work ute & $10k damage to a near new Suzuki Swift & guess what - NO insurance Only consolation - apart from his own car being stuffed - has now also owes about $16k to insurance companies... over 100yrs probably
-
Great pics - well done Car looks great!
-
Aussies are too scared - might show their Holdens & Fords up... as other cars have before Great racing

Just sent you an email Dave, another happy camper you will be I think:) The only one I have done a couple of years back was a ULF unit to a Jap car I had already converted nav & radio in. Got the unit from Bimmernav in the States - cost about NZ$1250 at the time - then nearly a day to do the conversion from Jap system. Again - Hindsight is wonderful As Greg says - once you have nav running - ULF will give voice control nav too, so probably worth the extra expense for that. I will dig out the conversion procedure when needed. You can get S/H units of Ebay but from my understanding - the earlier units had some problems. The latest was (I think still is) version 13 Grant
-
As above Use a grinder (if you can access) otherwise a die grinder or gas to remove the head
-
Yep, good turn out. Thanks to Pete & Wayne Meant to catch up with you Kerry - but looked up & your car had just gone
-
HB Shelly. Maybe she doesn't want to talk to you Dan

**URGENT** Jap E65 745i TV, NAV, TUNER to NZ conversion **URGENT**
hotwire replied to ash7032's topic in Electrical system
I am aware of this BUT this particular vehicle is a Hybrid system that only occured for a year or so of the first Jap E65's. It may be doable but the sequence required will be different to the later E65's that run full MOST
