Nice choice, the black wood really makes a difference in the interior. Looks kiwi-new too.

Thats great you got a refund. I'm sure most dealers in this situation would just try to keep fixing and fixing, and then maybe throw you a carrot by way of free warranty (so the problems is no longer theirs, its the poor warranty company's). I'm sure you will see your old car at a Turners location near you sometime soon. Oh, have you found any M3's for $20k yet? This one looks like a nice NZ new example with full leather, and is a bit different in boston green. Surely you could own it for under $20k?
-
How did you go about getting a refund from the dealer? Was by way of their goodwill, or did you have to take further action? $20k should secure you a nice M3. Many have been listed for ages and I'm sure $20k in cash could tempt a few sellers. Even if they are advertised for $25k, don't be scared to make an offer - the worst response you can get is "no".

Not to hijack your thread... But, speaking of sterling silver 318is's in Wellington, has anyone seen one with a MTec2 kit on it? I remember I had the opportunity to buy it about 4 or 5 years ago. It was NZ new manual 318is with full MTec2 kit (basically identical to a M325i) and ended up being traded and sold through Aro on Cuba St. Sorta kicking myself for not buying it (actually, if I did I doubt I would still own it!). Does anyone on here own this car, or know where it got to? Thought it would be pretty rare being an NZ 318is with the full kit!

Good game. But really, who likes dirty Cantabs?

TradeMe Link Wonder what this puppy will go for. 1997 travelled 95,000kms. Could current petrol prices really hurt the value of these? Looks like it will be a lot of car for the dosh!

Auction now withdrawn by TM administrators... Hmm

If you want your thread to be really big, you need a picture like the young lady with the 316ti

Don't dwell on the past Martynn. I used to do that too much, and it's not good for your head. Im sure people wanting to "sell" (that is, move to a new owner and not merely list on trademe) an E34 M5 will price it according to the market, being a similar price to what the white one sold for. Alas, one may pop up soon...

Don't worry about legislating about who can drive what, maybe the government should focus on the state of the police and their dodgy investigations!!! NZ is now the best place in the world to be a murderer...

Made me laugh... Only in South Auckland would you see something like that! How did they intend to cook it? By smoking it???

Thoughts on the new Sarah connor chronicles? Rubbish

E90 323i will be an import (the 323i wasn't sold new here in NZ). Still I would make sure the workshop has all of the correct diagnostic equipment. A franchise may cost you a little more, but it will be worth. Whats a couple of hundred bucks on your $60k odd investment?
-
$200-$300?
-
Being so new, I would take it to a franchised BMW dealer, as they will have all of the diagnostic equipment. Not sure if the independents would...
-
How much?
-
How much dosh do ya wanna spend? Check out the prices of e39's. They are starting at $6k now. The big advantage is that they are modern enough to qualify for mechanical breakdown insurance (a warranty), making running costs less of an issue

Oooooooooooohhh! I agree with you, but i'm sure many people on here won't!
-
May I ask why you would want a dog leg gearbox? Surely the time shifting from first to second will be slower than a conventional setup

Yup, off an Explorer. Pure class...

Aarrrrggggghhhhhhhhh - WINSTON??? You are all mental!

LET'S JUST DO IT ! ! ! THIS IS NOT THE 'DON'T BUY' PETROL FOR ONE DAY, BUT IT WILL SHOW YOU HOW WE CAN GET PETROL BACK DOWN TO $1.00 PER Litre....hopefully This was originally sent by a retired Coca Cola executive. If you are tired of the gas prices going up AND they will continue to rise this winter, take time to read this PLEASE. Phillip Hollsworth offered this good idea. This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the 'don't buy petrol on a certain day' campaign that was going around last April or May! It's worth your consideration. Join the resistance!!!! We are going to hit $ 2.00 a litre and it might go higher!! Want petrol prices to come down? We need to take some intelligent, united action. The oil companies just laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't continue to 'hurt' ourselves by refusing to buy petrol. It was more of an inconvenience to us than it was a problem for them. BUT, whoever thought of this idea, has come up with a plan that can Really work. Please read on and join with us! By now you're probably thinking petrol priced at about $1.50 is cheap. It is currently $1.90 for regular unleaded. Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to think that the cost of a liter of gas is CHEAP at $1.50, we need to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the marketplace...not sellers. With the price of gasoline going up more each day, we consumers need to take action. The only way we are going to see the price of petrol come down is if we hit someone in the pocketbook by not purchasing their petrol! And, we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves. How? Since we all rely on our cars, we can't just stop buying petrol. But we CAN have an impact on petrol prices if we all act together to force a price war. Here's the idea: For the rest of this year, DON'T purchase ANY petrol from BP NZ the biggest price up driver company. If they are not selling any petrol, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit. But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of BP NZ petrol buyers. It's really simple to do! Now, don't wimp out on me at this point...keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!! I am sending this note to 20 people. If each of us s end it to at least ten more (20 x 10 = 200) .. And those 200 send it to at least ten more (200 x 10 = 2000 ... and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth group of people, we will have reached over TWO MILLION consumers. If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each, then 20 million people will have been contacted! If it goes one level further, you guessed it..... TWO HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!! Again, all you have to do is send this to 10 people. That's all! I'll bet you didn't think you and I had that much potential, did you! Acting together we can make a difference. If this makes sense to you, please pass this message on THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES TO BELOW THE $1.50 RANGE AND KEEP THEM DOWN. THIS CAN REALLY WORK. Simple - send the message along to other and do not buy petrol from BP NZ

Why is everyone after facelift models? There are two quite nice pre-f/l M325i's listed at $10k ono each. If I was buying an E30 M325i, pre-f/l would be what I was after. These are the classic, the first iconic model. In terms of future value I bet facelifts won't rise as much.
