Shot for the comments guys. JiB, can you point me in the right direction, or are they easy to come by?
-
Sweet, nah I only need a pair for the front, the rears are fine

Too big and the wheels will stick out too much = illegal Hopefully when I get this all done it should look mint, gonna get some mean guard work done to accommodate the Alpinas

Gutted ... SELLER'S ANSWER: No, these are bolt on, which are designed for cars with preexisting studs. The BMW ones also have expensive long load bearing bolts with them and are 2 sets (4) whereas this is 1 pair (2) spacers that doesnt need load bearing bolts. You could look at converting your car to studs by buying some sort bolts to bolt the spacers to your existing hubs - that may be a cheaper way of doing it. We may still need to custom make the spacers for you to get the right size hubcentric though. Give us a call. ... Would there be any other alternatives? This is going to be a very expensive f**king cert

Thanks Cam, was just talking to the guy who owns that website a few mins ago (well through TME Q&A) he said something about needing hub centric with longer bolts and stuff and a set of those is $600 through that site .. just wondering what the price difference is for?

As the title suggest ... I have had a google, emailed a couple of places about a pair of 20mm H&Rs but they are wanting $350+GST. Wondering if there are more cheaper but still legal bolt on options available? Rather than getting a place in town to make them, which will take a few weeks .. I kind of need somewhere in stock now, as I am on tight time constraints with the cert/pink sticker/wof issues Cheers guys Josh

Well, I swapped a tidy E38 for an E30 which was pretty illegal and I now have to invest ALOT of money in to get road legal. LOLCARZ
-
OK - so cert is all paid for, I just have to do the work. List as follows ..... Riding on bumpstops in rear, cause could be springs are to f**ked/soft so have to take stops out and see if it drops any lower, if it does, time to buy new springs which I'll prob do anyway to bring it up a bit. Spacers - need to get some legal ones, the ones that were put are on f**king ridiculous and should not really be for sale as they are not legal at all (on a road car). Seats/rails are fine, just need to get washers for all the bolts/screws. Steering wheel bolts, half are missing, so I might just get a nice mtech wheel and gear knob or something tasteful. Will have to get the guards heavily pumped out if I want to run the Alpina reps .. if I cant bring the front out enough I won't be able to run the wheels Going to spend some time/$ on it this weekend and see what I can do. Might just end up getting new springs to raise it up a bit, its great getting staff prices on everything at Repco thanks to the lady friend.

Car is being dropped into Marty Jones in bunnythorpe tomorrow for first cert "look over" so will let you all know how it goes.

Did indeed Simon, very unfortunate. So much talk about spacers, think I'm going to have to talk to the certifier before I go ahead with anything.
-
Cheers guys. While I'm here, has anyone had dealings with spacers? The ones on the Alpina reps (for the front) I think are 20mm, but I'm having trouble deciphering the difference between "bolt on" and not. The spacers that came on the car just sit behind be wheel on the hub and need to be (rather difficultly) lined up to get them in the right position. Of course these look different to other spacers I have seen for sale (just had a quick look) that come with bolts and actually look like they bolt onto the hub then the wheel goes over the top - but I don't think there is a way for bolt on spacers to fit the E30 hubs, am I correct in assuming my slip on ones will be fine for a cert? Of course I'll get clarification at the time but just wanting to know a bit more now. Cheers Josh

Think I am missing something here? Or maybe I'm getting to old .. ?
-
for clutch and brake asap have posted before but no luck, so maybe a car has been wrecked since then? there a no decent aftermarket ones I could find anywhere .. cheap please
-
From the LVVTA threshold pdf thing .. I'm guessing the front sway bar won't be to OE fitting because the blocks it fits onto - that are bolted to the chassis, even though I think they may have been there from factory? f**k knows.
-
They are probably not your rails, there has been a angled bracket or some sh*t added in. I really can't be bothered changing springs around so its just going to get certed. I thought the WOF was wrong on swaybars, I"ll have look into that.

Original post updated with some pics guys.

And I lost my license (for demerits, nothing boy racer-ish or idiototic) but thats another story. Me and the better half were on our way to a mates on Friday night for drinks, we were both sober, got pulled up by a Police car that had 2 LTSA inspectors in it, we got told to follow them back to an underground carpark. Where they had several Police, Immigration (wtf) and testing station inspectors down there with trolley jacks, spot lights etc, checking everything on any car they felt like I knew it wasn't going to end well, I ended up getting done for the dodgy seat rails, black tail lights and a marginally bald tire. The dodgy seat rails are going to be a PITA since somewhere along the line a bracket has been added in. The black tail lights ... well are black so that's something that I'll be updating. Bald tire speaks for itself - camber on the rear. Missed the spacers, rust in firewall, height (which I think is negligible). Took it into VINZ today, have a small novel on other things that need fixing, I guess I have 3 months free time anyway On the night it was all inspected I had about 6 people trawling all through the car for about 30-40mins, they questioned me on the last place that gave it a warrant so I feel sorry for the man that did that - he'll be getting a visit soon I think. So now the plan is, get the height, seats, sway bars, wheels, steering wheel, engine and 260 certed so I don't have any problems in the future. Not having a moan, I just found it all quite interesting - and yes, before you flame me, it was deserved, it had to happen, but it will be be fixed soon! They also questioned me about the euro plates, but that wasn't listed as a testing station issue so they are staying on.

That's insane. Would have been a bitch of a conversion though.

Seriously, that thing is pure class Its a regular in town on the weekends down here, I honestly want to punch the guy in the face everytime I see that thing, 'cause I'm like .. jealous.
-
Was thinking less, been offered a pair from someone else for $50 incl postage ... don't think they are worth that much these days...
-
As title, mine are blacker than black and I lost the other pair that came with the car. How much would I be looking at for some in good condition?
-
This place is going down hill at a great rate of knots lately, people bickering left, right and center over the most stupid sh*t. But that's just my opinion
-
Stab in the dark .. but could it be the main ECU in the car?
-
If anyone has has 2 I'll be keen for one as well
