Ultimately you get what you pay for, I bought one many years ago for my stock E36, specifically for the dual pipe look, give it a couple of months and you'll buy a stock system secondhand like I did, they sound like crap and draw way too much attention from undesirabes, powerpro type stuff is arse.

Yep. thanks to melowpuf, the killer was the labour on trying to track the f**king fault in the first place.

ECU was f**ked, auto electrician opened it up and there was liquid or something spilled through it (not water) and it looked as if someone had attempted to "chip" it, $75 for new ECU and couple hundred in labour and its all sorted, finally, great.

Engine is an '87 2.5l, will try to find cheaper one .. trademe ecu's are less 60-80 bucks, thanks.

Not yet, auto elec didn't get a chance to scan it today, so hopefully tomorrow, fingers crossed its something simple that I've overlooked.

It runs fine when its cold, just as soon as it starts to warm up it will just splutter, can't keep the revs up and it dies. And doesn't restart until left for a few mins to cool down.

ECU .. is that the box just to the right of the steering column with motronic on it? I can't see dial on it if its that ... although I don't know, I don't do E30s very well!

Think we have narrowed it down to intake or something around that area, as it just seems to be starving on air once its warmed up a little bit.

Picked up the old edirty off ashkan few days ago, has been running sweet, until today. I was just driving along, it spluttered a couple of times and completely died, it restarts but it doesn't run for long before stalling. Can get up to 50kph in 4th like normal and it just cuts off. ..seems to happen more at low revs .. we replaced the distributor rotor because that looked pretty poked and we thought that could be the problem, but its still the same, seems only to happen after then engine has been running for a few minutes. Have been told to check crank angle sensor, but im not to sure what im looking for? Can you guys offer any advice? Engine is a M20B25 is thats any help.

Might be helpful if you provide more info, instead of just trying to pimp your car just after joining ...

Cheers Glenn, got it out with the help of a mechanic mate, had to get under and undo the cooling hose clamp and the main cable on the back of it.

We have everything off and out, alternator is unbolted and hanging free ... except for the main power feed and the wiring loom, any advice on how to get these out? Cheers guys.

Alternator has just f**ked out, numbers on current on are 01235010 and 1432831 Hope Ray and or Brent could help out ....thanks pm price incl postage to palmy

$2000 covered the panel and paint work, the scratches were down to bare metal running the length of both sides of the car, it wasn't a quick or easy job. I'm not bitter, just surprised you lied to me about alot of things with the car, you have a split personality thing going on I think, but thats ok, I'll leave it how it is. M-pars weren't worth that much mate and you know it, they needed a full repaint and clear coat (or something along those lines - I'm not that up with what gets done to wheels). You can buy it back and try your Alpina's on it - for a fair market price. Wasn't smashed up by me, it was vandalized by some scum. But had alot of money spent to make it look mint - and it does. Shame you like to slander it, your a mod, you should set an example.
