Wind free day in Wellington? So...Heaps of priming and sanding, then 2:1 (paint:hardener), then a clear coat on that? Thinners? How would you do engine bay, door frames and around front/back windscreen?

Just talked to a auto painter who my Dad knows, he said about $1500 for quality materials for half decent job then really needs to be baked!!

Thinking of painting my Dads E30 in the garage at home as it is getting old and oxidising. Anyone done it at their house? Wondering if it is a difficult and lengthy process or pretty straight forward.

Also interesting that the M20 2.5i and M10 1.8i have the lowest weight per horsepower figures: M20 2.5i=0.68kg bhp and M10 1.8i=0.84kg bhp as opposed to, M20 2.0i=0.97kg bhp and M10 1.6i=0.98kg bhp. (my own calculations, hope im correct) Must mean that more fuel economy and acceleration for the 2.5 and 1.8 (not taking into account the cars net weight).

Doesn't look like anything special to me, like the sound of the 420hp V8 though.
