Burnout vid or we'll deny that the 316 ever existed..

I'm thinking it's just the control unit at fault as the system has gas pressure and works fine when the control panel is working.. It just turns itself on and off and most of the time doesn't turn on at all (the screen doesn't light up and pressing the buttons has no effect..) So should I try running another power supply to the aircon panel? switched from ignition or constant? and to which wire?
-
Have the aircon panel sitting on my lap at present. It must be getting power somehow as the little cooling fan on it is running. Guessing it's probably some loose wiring inside the unit itself? All the connectors are fine.. There's a large blue plug with a dozen or so wires coming out of it.. a smaller black plug with two black wires and a white wire in one sheath coming from it.. and a small yellow plug with a green wire and a brown wire leading to the small cooling fan. There's a blue socket for a plug with nothing attached and no loose plugs floating around in the dash.. I'm guessing it's loose wiring in the unit as it sometimes works sometimes doesn't and its obviously getting power no problem due to the fan running.

Stoked! photo's!!! My missus is looking at a 318i 2-door 5 speed.. She was the quiet bird in my car e30stz..

When it turns on it runs fine, It just doesn't usually turn on (the buttons have backlights that are on at the same time as all the other interior lights.. but they don't function and the panel doesn't turn on most of the time) so I'll have a poke around this afternoon and see if there's anything loose or damaged.

These are both in the underbonnet fuse-box? Mine has a habit of sometimes turning on, sometimes not, sometimes turning on then turning itself off around particular corners.. thinking it's a loose wire somewhere..

Know anyone who can arrange finance?

That is the single funniest thing I've read on this forum. As for my anti-social behaviour.. I don't start fights, On the new years eve incidents it was all trying to save my cocky best mate from getting his ass kicked and in no way was I the one who threw the first punch.. I rarely am. And I'm sure you got up to plenty of mischief when you were younger!

Reckon that fabric dye spray would do the trick on my seats? (changing the fabric section of a half leather seat from navy blue to black)

Now THAT'S a holiday.

So does the aircon panel not even turn on or function when there's no gas in the system?

Its a bitsa.. from what I can know these are the specs.. It's not built to any particular Moog specification.. Just a jumble of Moog parts that makes some interesting noises, Haven't had much time to fiddle with it as I'm more into my tube-driven organs. From what I know it's probably a butchered system 12 with a few other bits added in here and there, I don't own it but the owner doesn't want it. Custom Moog 12(/3P?), It basically has two of everything.. 904A Lowpass filters x 2, 902 VCA's x2, 911 Envelope generators x2, 2x 921 Oscillators coupled to 1x 921A driver, 921 Oscillators x2, 903 noise source, 905 spring reverb, 907 fixed filter bank, 952 49 note keyboard, Moog system 12 bottom panel with 4 channel mixer and reversible attenuator. Single or Dual Sequencer required. Has a normal output jack + 9 pin leslie output (sounds interesting through a Leslie) All in a home-made vinyl over plywood cabinet roughly the size of a 4x12 speaker cab. Next time I'm out there I'll take some photo's. It looks like something from Dr Who.

If it comes to it.. It's only ~$60 to get an auto electrical workshop to do it for you.. as long as you haven't made a mess of the factory loom too much. -
Identical to my Mums car, except Her's has M-Sport wheels and is a 2000. Those VW R32 Golf's are a fun drive.
-
How thick can you get it? I might be keen for about half a square metre of around 2.5-3mm thick

Cheeky little buggers for 5'10" and 75 kilo's!

There's more to Tauranga than old people and surfer bums. Especially at New Years when the out of towners start trouble with the locals =]

Got photo's? What exactly do you mean by carbon fibre plate?

I'd drive that Volga V12 in an instant!
