Thanks to Hellboy`s skill and patience it fits. We have decided to graft the M5 front suspension on elimanating the need for a dry sump.(courtesy of Kyrie @ Quest Fabrication) This will also enable us to take advantage of the M5 bigger brakes/ floating rotors. Had a set of E39 wheels refurbished hoping the offsets would work. Yes-anther pleasant surprise, a motor transplant to go with the wheels.

Thanks for pointing that out. Revised figures are M5: 1826 kg M3: 1575 kg BMW AG quotes (90% fuel tank + 68 kg driver + 7 kg for luggage + standard trim ) Aprox. 250 kg difference should seriously impact the power to weight ratio.

This info might be of some use: How is the E39 M5's suspension different from that of a regular 5 Series? The suspension of the E39 M5 shares its basic aluminum-intensive MacPherson strut/multi-link design with that of the V8-powered E39 5 Series models but incorporates several specific changes from BMW M: -Specific spring rates with reduced spring height (0.9-inches shorter than standard E39 springs, 0.1-inches shorter than M-Technic E39 springs) -Specific shock valving -Thicker anti-roll bars front and rear -Polyurethane auxiliary springs in place of rubber units -Steel balljoints in place of rubber rear suspension bushings
