  1. Never use Nail polish remover on paint. Nail polish remover is Acetone which is an intense thinner. Meths is relatively safe, depending how much you use it could take the layer of wax off your car. Thats why some groomers wash cars with a diluted meths liquid so they can get a fresh base. Wouldn't try terps again, removed the paint and lacquer from one of my eyelids once. Don't know about kerosene.
  2. Just de-badged last week. I literally pulled mine off. It was held on good but it came off extremely easily. I was prepared to use meths and a credit card but didn't need to. Like Glenn said, used my finger to get the sticky tape off and then meths to clean the tiny stuff off. Could still see the outline so I just gave it a really through polish and it looks as though there was never one there. If you're gonna put it back on just make sure its in the exact spot you want it when you first push down otherwise you'll screw the adhesive if you need to reposition it.

    SOLD.

And a lip spoiler Good luck with the sale
  4. I wouldn't touch it for 10k. The stagea's are pretty much the ugliest a jap wagon can get. And not to mention I wouldn't be seen anywhere near it.
  5. Si's the man at installing them too. How many screwdrivers does it take to install clear lights?
  6. tbh Jason I would personally go for an aftermarket alarm. I agree with keeping things OEM but apart from that theres absolutely no other benefits to installing an OEM one. OEM alarms are hardly that sophisticated compared to modern 5 star alarms. Comparing mine for example, (I realise that E46's are newer therefore may have more equipment or options), It has the standard BMW immobiliser which all have anyway and the only other major option is the interior sensor which was extremely rare in E36. E46's have interior movement sensor, Bonnet, Boot, door and tilt sensors afaik. Aftermarket are actually relatively cheap, compared to retrofitting, http://www.rapidradio.co.nz/Product-Catalo...p;ProductId=425 Check that kinda thing out. And bear in mind insurance companies recognise alarms and a 5 star one can bring down your premium or in some cases you theft excess. I was quotes a 2k theft excess with my standard alarm and then they said if I got a 4 star or higher one fitted that excess would come down to $600. All companies are different though. I've actually got to replace my alarm soonish due to it being old and unreliable at times. My 2 cents
  7. Yep, double sided tape is by far the cleanest. I splurged an bought a $6 roll from Mitre 10 Mega. Still got over half the roll left.
  8. If that's correct sorry mate. I used this calculator which has previously been correct, http://www.rimsntires.com/rt_specs.jsp See what you make of it
  9. There is something wrong if you're using nearly 29L every 100k's.
  10. "Instant On" Radar guns are the main way you can get caught even if you still have a radar detector.
  11. Looks good man. Nice choice. Did you fit the mags and tyres Jonno?
  12. No, no they're all in their right minds. Its just BMW put them on the wrong model bimmers from factory. I've got even more but saving those for a very special rainy day Can't stop looking at the pictures. Thats an awesome idea. Might ask Ray next time I'm up there.
  13. I absolutely love that Australia's best 5.0 V8 back in '87 still couldn't pull away from a piddly 2.4. Haha owned.
  14. We'll see Simon! Yea! You've already been through your quota of Style 5's! Take any chance for Style 5 education! And all those are proof that 5 series wheels will fit E36
  15. Hey man, I've been watching those rims for soo long! Like previously said spacers will not increase offset, they decrease offset. So for example if you wanted to put E36 wheels on a 5 series then you could use a 20mm spacer, ET45 down to ET25. ET20 wheels with a 20mm spacer will make the offset 0. I would personally run a lower offset wheel on a E36 no question, mainly cause I think a lot of wheels in E36 offset look crap and have pretty much no dish (Not in every case). Those wheels with an offset of 13 are a bit borderline (But of course you can get anything to fit really if you really want). They'd leave enough room towards the strut but would stick out another 33mm (1.3"). You can roll and flare the guards and I'd put my money on them fitting, you would have to run stretch too. E39 are the odd wheels out, they're the only modern bimmer that uses the 74.1 center bore. So only E39 wheels would need hubcentric rings. Very cheap from memory. Still waiting for my 18" staggered Style 5's to pop up! Offsets not gonna stop me.
  16. I can honestly vouch for the dura-seal teflon coating. My fathers 540 was done with that over 4 years ago and it honestly, no bull, looks as good as the day it was done. Looks great man. Love the wheels.
  17. They're good (only watched first and last). NZ's too pussy to put something like that on tv.
  18. Interested. Please let me know if Ashkan doesn't grab it. Cheers
  19. What happened to E36's ftw!?! haha Looks like a nice car.
  20. Can we have a picture of them fitted to your car so we can get an idea of how low they sit. Cheers

    HB Henry

Happy Birthday Driver of the Year!
  22. Tbh, I thought it was awesome. I love reading your articles, they're very different than a lot on the net (In a good way!).
  23. When you say you went over a speed bump what does that mean? Did the car bottom out, did you hit the front or did it just randomly start once you had made it over the speed bump normally?
