  1. Happy birthday Emily Have a great day
  2. Yes. I was extremely surprised to hear what Sam said about it after he picked it up. I can vouch for how mint the car is because of the time and money Graham has spent on it. Everytime I have seen it I have been impressed.Hope you get it sorted soon Sam. Bet it stands out amongst the crowd down in Chch though. I don't know about Chch but up here in Auckland there are a sh*tload of Tech II's!
  3. Radar detectors aren't illegal yet (possession or use). The possession of a jammer isn't illegal yet. I didn't mention anything about giving a speeding ticket as yes, in most cases they need to be able to show you proof of your speed. There are plenty of reasons why the use of them is illegal. You must purchase a licence to transmit on any other frequencies besides those allocated to licence free (amateur) radios. If you transmit on the same frequency as someone else, who has paid, you're committing an offence. You need a licence to transmit on police bands. You're interfering with the cops ability to catch a 'criminal' and that itself is an offence. etc. I realise they model of jammer you have is a laser diode model and some reasons above don't apply but they do to other types of jammers. But it still interferes... Detectors are legal because they do not interfere. Like Paul has mentioned there is a big difference between laser and radar. I'm not clued up on the workings of the laser to be able to talk about it. I can't find the NZ information right now but it falls around the same legislation in America and many other countries that "Jamming or attempting to jam a police radar gun is a federal felony punishable by fines and a possible jail sentence". The legality is pretty much a grey area as no one has recorded been caught using a jammer, and if you were then you'd be an idiot! haha I'm not against them. If I could afford one I'd have one! Back on topic!
  4. What a stunning X5 mate! Awesome colour Yea, Jammers work by jamming the signal sent out by the radar gun the cop is holding. Seeing as they are illegal in NZ (or illegal to use) as you've said the idea is to lower your speed asap and switch the jammer off. If you travel 400m towards a cop and he can't read your speed then he's gonna know some things up and possibly stop and ticket you for use of a jammer. They work great though.
  5. I'm pretty keen on both. Obviously would be needed for an E36. Guessing the strip would be the same but are E36 rings available? Cheers
  6. You still had Imola first mate! Looks amazing. Hopefully will get to see it at the Hamilton meet
  7. I've never had a problem with space in the footwell like Mike.
  8. Seeing as you're set mate! Thread jack Can anyone do E36 ones? Jase says you need to take the front struts out for the front and get the whole car off the ground for the rear springs? Anyone have any info?
  9. Always wanted a Reiger splitter. Love them so much. Except to import a splitter like that alone from eBay is $450USD excluding shipping! Thats why I haven't haha. Looks awesome mate. Can't wait to see it all on the car.
  10. @ BMW from memory they're around $20 each (non-motorsport) up to $30ish for motorsport. Check eBay man, should find some for a couple dollars each.
  11. Damn! As everyone has said, hats off to you guys. Checked it out last weekend when I was up there and couldn't stop smiling . It really is a stunner. Can't wait to see it rolling
  12. For rims only maybe, theres a set of style 24 staggered wheels on tm for $1500. Style 39's will be priced around that.
  13. Yea, they don't give a sh*t about your car if you crash into someone else and it's your fault. They would then pay for their repairs. But if someone damages your car and its their fault then they will arrange it with their insurance company or if they don't have insurance they will cover you for a small amount (3k in most cases). I don't know if they arrange court dates if they other party won't pay (doubt it). Ring your insurance, give them his name, address, phone number, licence number etc. All the information you should have taken at the scene and they should be able to track his insurance company down. He crashed into you so you have every right to know his insurance company so you can claim, too bloody bad if his premium will go up. He should have paid more attention to where he was going. No point going to BMW man, they aren't panel beaters. They'll just refer you on to precision Autowerks or eurocollision etc.
  14. Thats what 3rd party is man. They crashed into you so as long as they're at fault then they'll deal with it for you, if they're not insured then your insurance company should still pay out a max of about 3k (obviously not necessary in this case).
  15. Happy Birthday Jase! Have a great day!
  16. I don't know what to make of that haha! I stand corrected, I couldn't handle the power of the M40 either! Insurance purpose's mainly. She's just had an accident in a 1.4 Starlet so she just wants something nice n' slow so insurance doesn't reject it.
  17. Before you guys start getting excited, its not for me. Anyways I couldn't handle the raw, unrestrained power of that roaring M10 Must be a 316i. Must be auto. Must be in Auckland. Must be under $2500. Have checked out trade me but theres not much on there at the moment. Trying to convert an unsuspecting young woman If you can help out send me a PM or post. Cheers, Nick
  18. Yep, round 6ish? Roof racks off as of yesterdays car wash haha. I like changing it
  19. You finally came out of the closet about this project Lance! Can't wait to see it in person
  20. I feel so much better about what I eat and drink now! Thanks guys
  21. Almost look like E30 M3 arches! haha
  22. There is a set of 17" Style 5 barrels on eBay US. Found them on my daily style 5 search I don't know if it's possible to use your centers and put them in wider barrels. Do some research, would be mint!
  23. Haha I wish it was that easy Graham The leather in my fathers 540 is grey and mine next to his definitely aren't anywhere close. I call if off white cause its not white white but not grey IMO. For all I know I may be colour blind though! They've gotten back to me this morning wanting to book the car in.
