The vin number for my 323 is on a plate on the right strut tower. Although in some circumstances I believe they have used the chassis number as the VIN.

The most common 540 fault is the cooling system. They usually go around the 100k mark. Check the service history to see if anything has been replaced or if nothing seems to have been replaced get a warranty. A warranty is the best way to spend $1500 if you've got an e39.

Could it be any more similar to the Koenigsegg? This is pretty much like the Aston DB9 and the Jag xk, both of which were designed by the same guy. The Americans just can't design a car as well as the Europeans, not even close class wise. Not that impressed.

Again, help would be appreciated. Not my day for finding the info I need on google. I've just replaced the dipped beams with new 5000K whiter bulbs (They're perfectly legal!, bought at repco, not Xenon) and I think when I put them in I might have knocked the height out of place. I've looked around for the height they're meant to be, but can't find any info. The last thing I want to do is blind anyone so just want to check the adjustment is right. Can I adjust myself? Or is it easier to take it into a garage? I can workout how to adjust, just don't know how high to adjust them. Cheers, Nick

Nope, tasteless mods makes bimmers worth less. I can't say the same for other car makes though.
