  1. Happy Birthday Josh ..!!!
  2. Unlocked phone. Never jailbroken or messed with. Spare phone in really good condition. Works on all network. Brand new screen and back protector. Will throw in a phone cover also. Apple warranty till end of Nov 2012. running iOS6 - box and all original accessories included. SOLD
  3. I would just buy a DC2 Type R ... much better car and way less money: http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showthread.php?t=423555
  4. No different car. There weren't that many genuine GT3 RS gen 1 imported and as far as I know only two in black and orange.
  5. Let me email the friend and find out about it - not sure if I'll get a reply before Monday however. DKNGHT is stock GT3. The owner now owns a Lambo Aventador I think.
  6. Fairly sure that one has had more than one owner. I remember looking at that car when it was in the showroom, then the guy that bought it (I believe he owns a company similar to yours Matt up here in Auckland), then it got traded to CCS in Newmarket with about 13K km and that's when it went down to the South - I know the friend of the person that owned it in Queenstown. So at least 3 owners I think? (including one dealer) Nice car regardless : )
  7. No, Genuine or 1:1 replica CSL bumpers only.
  8. look on e46fanatics - it can be done, but not a bolt on job as the M3 bumper is slightly wider. If you force it to conform it'll look all wonky under the headlights - if you fit it in M3 width the bumper will stick out by about 15mm each side I believe. http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=426625
  9. For cars with the aluminium front carrier (not the carbon kevlar type). In brand new never mounted condition. Painted Silver Grey. Was used for moulding a project bumper, so the paint isn't in perfect condition but not too bad. The left hand foglight carrier was carefully cut for the mould, but has been glued back on - I would recommend maybe a bead of plastic epoxy on the back of it or some minor plastic welding just to be 100% certain it won't fall off. (once the foglight is on you won't even see the bracket) Otherwise in brand new condition. $450 take it away (no licence plate holes ever drilled) the cut off and reglued bracket:
  10. 1:1 replica M3 CSL bumper (i.e. it is identical to the real thing) Painted Silver Grey (not perfect condition as it has a couple of stone chips on it) I had this sent over from the USA a couple of years back, so it is the first generation Vorsteiner M3 CSL front bumper (i.e. no internal bumper carrier bar moulded into it) Will fit E46 M3s of all generations (i.e. Kevlar front carrier and aluminium bar) One of the carbon splitters has a slight crack in it (was like this when I got it, I've had it releared with touch up so it is hardly noticeable. Ideally it should be sanded back and recleared if you want a showroom finish. I was going to modify this bumper for a project but have now no use for it. Pretty perfect fitment as in the photo below on my car: Will take $1200. (note - no center grill!!! You just reuse your own one off your standard M3 bumper) I also have a Vorsteiner full length single splitter for this bumper in 1 x 1 weave for an extra $350. Here's the DIY written by Daytonaviolet in the USA on fitting the first generation Vorsteiner bumper via both foam and aluminium bar method: http://www.bmw-planet.com/lib/BMW_e46_CSL_Bumper_DIY.pdf The bumper was originally on this car in the USA: With full length single splitter I'll get photos of the bumper and the individual carbon splitters tonight. Photos: Slightly damage splitter: other splitter:
  11. Okay I have had this set since new - I purchased this from BMW NZ brand new for about $6900 (seriously ripped off ) Anyway, these have been in my old E46 M3 and the CSL for the last couple of years (actually since 2004ish) They have had around 25,000 ~30,000km of travel and are in very good condition It is genuine AC schnitzer coilover which is based on re-valved Bilstein PSSS9s and AC custom springs - not sure what the rates are - I can't remember now The ride is firm if set on hard and quite soft if you go the other way. It is a monotube design shock and the adjuster changes both damping and rebound at the same time. The fronts are coilovers, the rears are not - it uses shims at pre-determined ride heights (which ironically is identical to the CSL ride height) - I can provide an AST rear spring adjuster at extra cost if needed (but honestly it is not necessary). I no longer have the C Spanners, the dealership lost them. $1500ono You re-use the factory top hats with these, so top hats aren't included - basically what you see in the photo is what you get (I do still have the original AC Schnitzer box if you want it, but it is in pretty poor condition)
  12. Great advice!!! haha ... should have thought of that ... LOL I'll go a step further and provide the current details to the current owner in Australia .. : P http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details...sort=LastUpdate
  13. PLEASE STOP EMAILING ME ABOUT THIS CAR, LOOK AT THE POSTING DATE. THE CAR IS LONG GONE. IN FACT NO LONGER IN NZ!!!!
  14. How many km have you done in your car? OEM shocks last about 50K km before they crap out, so anything above it I would say they are pretty worn. But do check your RTAB first - I recommend adding a limiter kit - best bang for buck modification you can do to the rear end and it'll help with the rear floor tearing. Don't go poly bushes as they can be noisy. OEM RTAB + limiters is the way to go (short of going BMW motorsport solid bearings). I have a set of AC Schnitzer Coilovers that I no longer use which you are more than welcome to try - they are Bilstein PSS9 revalved by AC Schnitzer with their custom springs. Pretty good for the occasional track days (not spectacular, but not bad) and nice and soft if you want it for a daily. The standard setup height is ironically identical to the CSL ride height (fronts are coilovers, but the adjustment is limited to about 3/4 of an inch top to bottom, rears are on spacers - two height settings). In terms of coilovers I'd rate the E46 M3 setup in the following (I've left out Konis as there are simply too many types out there and not all are the same - the advanced design stuff is good, but some have reported them to be a bit noisy. Also I've not mentioned Ohlins, as they don't really do an off the shelf kit as such for the E46 M3 specifically - the race stuff is out of this world expensive and in my opinion not the best bang for buck) - money no object (from the best money can buy to something pretty decent): 1. Sachs 4 way or 3 way (these are awesome and nothing beats these, not even Motons) - M3 GTRs run these ... I need not say more. 2. Motons 3 ways (4 are overkill really unless there's a big prize money to be had and you can actually utilise it or know how to set them up) - Later ALMS M3 GTRs used the Motons, but I suspect more to do with cost saving measures. 3 = Intrax 3 ways - seriously good shocks but requires you to turn the rear end into a full coilover setup (recommended with a cage only) 3 = Nitron 3 ways - there's a set on a CSL here and I've had the pleasure of driving them, they are bloody good for the money and a very well built system (I've however heard that recent changes with Nitron have meant that quality have slipped a bit) 5 = KW Race 2 or 3 ways (I personally run the 2 ways - but honestly these are way too harsh for everyday driving - I ended up taking them out of the car because they were so freaking uncomfortable to use on the road) 5 = AST Inverted race shocks - on the same level as KW Race in my opinion (some rate them slightly lower, others higher) 7. KW Clubsport range - these are a step higher than the v3 shocks and basically feature a higher valving V3 shock body with linear rate springs. 8. Any of the KW V1, V2, V3. 9. Bilstein PSS10 Before you pick anything do your homework first - feel free to ask, I know just about every system out there for the E46 M3. Word of warning with the KW stuff (I have them and run them, but it's a bit of love it and hate it thing for me). The V1, 2 and 3 stuff is okay and value for money, but just be weary that some of their kits require spacers up front as KW modify the front sway bar link pick up and on the V3 kit sometimes they don't clear the front wheels (it's a stupid design if you ask me, but meh ..) KW race stuff are brilliant with great backing from KW factory (think Loaded CSL and his KW 3 ways when he set the Nurburgring record - you can buy an identical setup to his car if you want, KW keep all specs for individual race shocks in house, so they can easily build you a new set when needed) All the race stuff is rebuildable, but you have to send them back to Germany (note, absolute pain in the ass to do!!!) Nitrons are seriously brilliant bit of kit and bang for buck if you want something really track focused and serious - but they are honestly not suitable for the road (especially the 3 way stuff - pure racing only) Just ask if you have any questions - but beware, not all aftermarket coilovers are bolt in so to speak - some of the cheaper stuff have weird camber plates and will not clear your front wheels - some have really poorly designed front sway bar links that also make installation a bit of a bitch.

  16. Awesome!! So someone pointed out to me (on another forum) that the lap times were for the Top Gear track - apparently that makes the 1:20.9 pretty impressive (and quite a bit quicker than the wet lap time that the stig did for the CSL at 1:28) This would put the CSL equally as fast as the Mercedes McLaren SLR (also 1:20.9) and faster than the following very fast cars: 997 GT3, 996 GT3 RS MKII, Lexus LFA, Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano, C63 Black series, 360 Challenge Stradale, Ferrari F430 I am going to say however, Steve Soper was probably just quite a bit faster than the old Stiggy around that track.

Not really a lightness or heavy issue with the steering - heavy doesn't always = more direct steering feedback. I guess a better word for it is probably lazy - the E46 M3's steering definitely felt a lot "lazier" compared to the E36 M3 and the feedback and feel through it becomes a little vague. CSL has a faster rack in a lighter car, so in actual fact it is lighter again compared to the E46 M3, but mostly owing to the steering ratio, it has a much more positive feedback and lot less lazy feel to it.

I've driven the E36 M3 Evo and E46 M3 back to back (one right after the other), and to be honest I actually thought the E36 M3 had better steering feedback and felt lot more 'raw' when compared to the E46 M3. Power delivery however the E46 M3 trumps the E36 M3 in my opinion. Smoother, more willing to rev and felt less strained for me.
  22. I ordered this from overseas and it arrived a bit late, so I ended up buying another SSD locally as I needed it urgently for work - so this one is surplus to requirement. The box is opened to check the content is there, but the antistatic seal for the SSD drive itself and the sticker is intact and never opened, so obbviously never installed or used. Zero hours!! 256gb - 7mm version so perfect for the latest ultrabooks that carry the 2.5" form factor. $340 firm Google for specs, I can't be bothered putting it up - but it is a good SSD from what I have seen of reviews.
  23. Maybe because I don't have a Dongle free version of the ICOM?? There are pros and cons between a native installed system and a vmware system - most of the time the issues arising with the vmware stuff is more often than not related to setup and user understanding of vmware - I've personally never had an issue at all and I've been using it for a while. If I am honest, anyone that uses the USB port to do coding and program is a bit crazy - it can be done without issue, but it can also go very wrong very quickly. If one is limited to only doing diagnostics and occasional system resets the vmware stuff is actually better - to name a few - ability to take snapshots, ability to reset if the system hangs, ability to run emulators, ease of adaptability with various cables ect ect. Wait till you have to update the firmware on the ICOM and it doesn't go to plan, there goes your thousand dollar system - happens all the time. Personally I don't do any coding, way too risky over an OBD2 cable, serial port or USB.
