Back in November 2007, reports suggested that BMW was planning to take on the Smart ForTwo and the Fiat 500 with a stylish micro car based on the Isetta, the famous bubble car of the fifties. According to AutoExpress, BMW execs have been talking of a fourth brand for the BMW Group, and the Isetta name is the ‘clearest indication’ of what that fourth brand will be about. Insiders have told AutoExpress that recent speculations saying that BMW’s new brand will only produce hybrids are wrong. However, the insider did say that the hybrid â€technology is reserved for larger models, such as our SUVs.†We don’t know if you remember but during the Detroit Auto Show we published a post saying that the BMW X6 will be the German auto maker’s first hybrid. Sources are saying that BMW has given the city car project the green light in an effort to reduce the average CO2 outputs from its vehicles to meet new EU targets. For the Isetta micro car, BMW will use turbo petrol and diesel engines to help keep costs down.

A while back we brought you news of a German tuner, G-Power, who was obsessed with breaking records with their 730hp tuned BMW M5. At that time G-POWER was hanging out at the Nardo track in Italy and was only able to reach a top speed of 200mph but said the car was capable of traveling at a top speed of 211mph. Well, on January 31st, G-Power passed both those numbers and also broke the old world record for the fastest street legal BMW. Testing at the Papenburg racetrack the 730hp G-POWER M5 HURRICANE reached a top speed of exactly 360km/h (that’s 223.6mph) breaking the old world record for the fastest street legal BMW of 331 (205mph). G-POWER is still planning on increasing output to at least 800, cutting down the 0-60 time of 4.5 seconds of the standard M5 into the low 3 second range and possibly breaking their own top speed world record. Bugger testing it - I'm turning it on so you guys can test it. It is exactly how it sounds - a fully featured gallery for ALL types of media. Any image format, video etc etc. It has some very cool features. To get start either click Gallery or 'My Controls' and there are gallery upload options in there. Would be great to create gallerys of everyone's cars. Have fun.

BMW has announced a list of vehicles that it will be showing at the 2008 Geneva Motor Show next month. We already know and have seen the X6, 125i (UK version of the 128i) and the M3 Convertible with M Double Clutch Transmission. What we’re excited about is the new 320d Convertible. The BMW 320d will be powered by a 2 liter single-turbocharged diesel engine producing 177hp with a peak torque of 258 lb-ft. BMW has also added EfficientDynamics with stop-start technology on manual models and a second-generation common-rail injection engine. With these technologies the 320d gets an average combined fuel-economy of 44.4mpg. Available in both SE and M Sports trim level, the BMW 320d is priced at £33,110 OTR and £35,735 OTR respectively. Both models go on sale in March 2008. BMW 3-Series Convertible Gallery: Press Release: The new BMW 320d Convertible and BMW 125i Coupé - New Convertible and Coupé models make world debut alongside EfficientDynamics concept car and M3 Convertible at Geneva Motorshow. - New BMW X6 makes European debut at Geneva Motorshow. - BMW 1 Series, 3 Series and X3 receive specification upgrades. BMW UK has announced additions to the 3 Series Convertible and 1 Series Coupé ranges. The new BMW 320d Convertible and 125i Coupé will receive their world debuts at the Geneva Motorshow in March alongside an EfficientDynamics concept car and a raft of other new models. Highlight of the BMW stand at the Geneva Motorshow will be a concept car showcasing the outlook and future direction of BMW’s innovative EfficientDynamics programme. It will appear alongside the worldwide debut for the forthcoming BMW M3 Convertible with M Double Clutch Transmission. The new BMW X6 and 1 Series Convertible also make their European debuts. The new BMW 320d Convertible Following the announcement of the new BMW M3 Convertible at one extreme of the open-top car spectrum, BMW introduces the most frugal Convertible in the 3 Series range, the 320d. Available in both SE and M Sport guises, the new 320d uses the same 1,995 cc engine from other 320d models in the 3 Series range to offer 177hp and 350Nm of torque. This single-turbocharged two-litre diesel engine propels the 320d Convertible from zero to 62mph in 8.6 seconds and on to a top speed of 139mph. EfficientDynamics plays a part in the car’s performance with stop-start technology on manual cars, a second-generation common-rail injection engine, and a Diesel Particulate Filter fitted as standard. These technologies ensure that the new 320d Convertible is BMW’s most frugal open-topped 3 Series, delivering an impressive 53.3mpg on the combined cycle and CO2 emissions of just 140g/km. The 320d SE Convertible is priced at £33,110 OTR with the M Sport model priced at £35,735 OTR. Both models go on sale in March 2008.

The current fifth-generation BMW 5-Series, or the BMW E60, has seen little changes since its debut. When BMW unveiled the car in 2004, critics and fans initially gave it mixed reviews. The controversial exterior design (done by none other then Chris Bangle and Adrian van Hooydonk), raised many eyebrows with its sharply cornered angles, and headlights and tail lamps that ran into the body. Finally time has come for a redesign and we have the latest photo renderings based on the camouflaged 5-Series that was spotted earlier this month in Munich. Our renderings reveal that the design of the next-generation BMW 5-Series has been seriously toned-down and won’t be as radical as the current generation. We’ll see major hints of the CS Concept on the front end(which is supposedly where BMW design is headed) with a large grille and more rounded headlights, while tail lamps will be stretched out to resemble those of the 3-Series. Click through for more info and the photo renderings. Engine specs wise, BMW is expected to carry over the current lineup including the new 3 liter turbocharged engine. Even though the current 4.8 liter V8 already produces 360hp, there is rumor of a 4.4 liter V8 turbocharged engine that will produce outputs of close to, or above 400hp. No word on whether it will replace the 4.8 liter V8. The next-generation BMW 5-Series is expected to make its debut in mid-2009 as a 2010 model year. You will eventually bend the whole unibody

I wouldn't want the car back.

I miss that car - it was badass. Rings are f**ked - really needs a new motor but the one in it goes pretty well considering.
