  1. After offering a whopping 384 horsepower upgrade for the 335i, Dinan has revealed their latest performance modifications for the BMW M5’s and M6’s 5.7 liter V10 engine. The M5 and M6 already produce a whopping 500 horsepower, but imagine the amount of acceleration an additional 128 horsepower can provide. By adding High Flow Throttle Bodies, Free Flow Mufflers and a racing middle exhaust, Dinan gives the M5 and M6 a total of 628 horsepower with 482 lb-ft torque. Dinan doesn’t provide any 0-60 times but we’re sure they are well in the low 4.0 second range. Of course this extra power will cost you around $40,000, with which you can probably pick up an extra 335i coupe. Click through for the press release. Press Release: For those seeking the ultimate high performance driving experience, Dinan has once again redefined M5 and M6 performance with a bored and stroked 5.7 liter version of BMW’s V-10 engine. The engine produces over 600 horsepower along with stump-pulling torque that exceeds 400 lb-ft from just 3000 rpm right to the rev-limit at 8100 rpm. As incredible as BMW’s V-10 is in stock form, just imagine the acceleration that results from an additional 141 horsepower and 128 lb-ft torque @ 5800 rpm! Equally impressive is the fact that all of this performance is available without sacrificing BMW-like drivability or the peace of mind that comes from matching new car warranty coverage for up to 4 years or 50,000 miles. Dinan’s 29 years of BMW tuning and racing experience ensure that the engines will not only perform but also provide years of trouble free driving excitement. Much of the technology that has made Dinan’s Grand-Am Daytona Prototype engines both competitive and reliable has carried over to the 5.7 Liter V-10 engine program for the street, ensuring that the engines produce incredible power along with race-proven durability. Each engine is dyno-tested prior to shipment, verifying power output in the same rigorous manner employed for the Daytona Prototype racing engines. The engine is supplied as an assembled long-block, fully prepared to directly replace the stock engine without modification. High Flow Intake/Air Mass Meter Assemblies are required in order to supply the larger engine with adequate airflow for maximum power gains. Maximum performance is achieved when the engine is equipped with the High Flow Throttle Bodies, Free Flow Mufflers and racing middle exhaust, producing an incredible 628 hp @ 7400 rpm and 482 lb-ft torque @ 6200 rpm. For those seeking ultimate performance from their M5 or M6, without sacrificing civility, reliability or warranty coverage, the Dinan 5.7 Liter V-10 is the definitive solution. 2. If you’re sitting there waiting for BMW to take a stab at the Audi RS6 which produces 580 horsepower, you’ll have to wait for the 600 horsepower M5 with twin-turbo that spies have been spotting around Munich. Or you can just let G-POWER fulfill your dreams now with their latest BMW M5 Hurricane that produces 730 horsepower. G-POWER is currently hanging out at the Nardo track in Italy testing the M5 Hurricane. According to G-POWER engineers, so far the car has reached a top speed of 200mph due to a fault in the electrical components. They say that the M5 Hurricane is able of reaching a top speed of 217mph. G-POWER is planning on increasing horsepower to at least 800, cutting down the 0-60 time of 4.5 seconds of the standard M5 into the low 3 second range. G-POWER BMW M5 Hurricane Gallery: The fastest and most powerful straßenzugelassene BMW sedan in the world comes from G-POWER. The 340 km / h fast G-POWER HURRICANE is based on the current BMW M5 built. The heart of the high-performance sedan, the 730 hp / 537.2 kW Fünfliter-V10 with G-POWER EVO II compressor system. In order for the standard 507 hp / 373 kW high-speed engine, the desired performance of 223 hp / 164 kW to achieve developed G-POWER in cooperation with ASA Automotive charging a high-tech system: Pro-cylinder series, a riemengetriebener ASA T1-12 compressor, total two, can be used. Compared to conventional mechanical loaders, for its own drive a large part of the developed More power to destroy themselves again, the ASA compressors running an efficiency of up to 80 percent. In addition besitzten such a compact size, allowing only the Mögchkeit, two compressors in the tight engine compartment of the M5 accommodate. With a realistic flow rate of up to 1,200 kg / h per cylinder bank, the Kompressorer even for an even greater increase in performance. The maximum boost pressure is in this concept to 0.5 bar rel. Limited. The vorverdichtete charge air is caused by the zweiflutige, highly efficient, water-cooled intercooler system, which is mounted above the engine is cooled. This measure not only optimizes the performance of yield, but it together with a larger water-cooled Ölkühlerdruckspeicher for a healthy thermals of the engine. Extravagantly developed maps for engine electronic control gear and SMG agree the new components perfectly. The inner life of the ten-cylinder four-valve engine is light, precisely balanced, high-performance piston forging technology partner MAHLE on even more turning trimmed. This made the supercharged V10 its maximum power output of 730 hp / 537 kW, in accordance with the principle of equality of power from 7,500 to 8,000 rpm. Thanks to the high efficiency of the two, to over 100,000 1/min spinning, compressors increases the torque curve early, and already exceeds at 3,800 rpm the standard maximum value (Series 520 Nm at 6.0001/min), and reaches its maximum of 700 Nm at 7,200 1/min. This will benefit the acceleration values. With 4.2 seconds sprinting the roughly two-ton sedan 0.5 seconds faster than the standard car from 0-100 km / h. With about 10 seconds to pace 200 is increasing its advantage to 5.0 seconds. The 300 km / h sound wall falls after less than 29.5 seconds. The maximum speed of the G-POWER HURRICANE, in contrast to serial car electronically on 250 km / h, but in conjunction with the additional chilled G-POWER Sperrdifferenzial at 340 km / h extended. The enormous performance are of course extreme demands on aerodynamics, tires, suspension and brakes. The G-POWER front apron, on request, particularly in light carbon-finish, replaces the series and provides complete part by large air inlets for optimal supply of fresh air coolers and front brakes. At the same time minimizing the spoiler in the high-speed lift at the front axle. The G-POWER Side ensure a windschlüpfrigen transition between the wheel arches and let the M5 optically deep and stretched. The lift at the rear axle, the spoiler lip for the trunk lid and rear carbon-diffuser for the G-POWER rear apron reduced. One advantage of driving dynamics and exclusive optics are the benefits of G-POWER Silverstone 21 inch light alloy wheels, fenders, the perfect form. The deep bed rims with brilliant-graphit-beschichteten interior parts for outdoor bed, and spoke and glanzgedrehten forehead surfaces are in the combination 9.5 Jx 21 with 255/30 ZR 21 tires front and 10.5 Jx 21 with 295/25 ZR 21 tires on the rear axle mounted. The hochgeschwindigkeitsfeste tires controls technology partners Dunlop. This is the place for the G-POWER high-performance brake system with Sechskolbenfestsätteln and 400 x 36 mm discs on the front axle. Alternatively offers G-POWER an upgrade package for the M5 series brake with Hochleistungsbremsbelägen and brake fluid. The handling of the M5 is the adjustable G-POWER thread sports suspension RS, each nine in the tensile and compression can be adjusted, yet sporty. For the appreciation of the cockpit offers G-POWER sporting components-carbon flashbacks to the ergonomically shaped sport steering wheel type NARDO EDITION in perforated, especially griffsympathischen G-POWER Kjerba-Nappaleder. The G-POWER HURRICANE is available as a complete car. Alternatively, any M5 - whether or touring sedan with the G-POWER Bi-Kompressorsystem, including the necessary modifications to the chassis, brakes and wheels will be offered, and the widely diversified G-POWER tuning accessories - range upgraded.
  3. BMW CEO, Norbert Reithofer, has already confirmed that the company will be producing a four-door Gran Turismo model based on the CS Concept that debuted at the Shanghai Auto Show. After that we haven’t heard much about what’s going on with the development of the car. The Bavarian automaker has yet to release any official specs or technical details and probably won’t do so until mid-2008. However, a report has popped up today stating that Gerhard Richter, a member of the management team of the BMW M GmbH, will be assigned project leader on the upcoming Gran Turismo. Of course this means that the Gran Turismo will have massive M-influence from the get go. Taking Richter’s spot while he’s away working on the Gran Turismo will be 50-year old Albert Biermann who will overlook the development of future M vehicles. BMW CS Concept Gallery:

    Welcome to 2008

Last year we replaced all of the software on the forum and switched server. Overall this has worked great but a few systems aren't working how they should. - Stickers: This really doesn't work at all. From tomorrow there will be a new ordering system that will actually let me know when to send out stickers. - Posting Issues: A few members can't seem to post at all. This appears to be related to a few users on XTRA and is being investigated. It doesn't appear to be related to any software/server issues on our end. New features: - A gallery: Yay! - This will feature members cars and is a feature many of you have been asking for in quite some time. - New moderators: (plus some old ones). These will be annouced next week. If you would like to suggest any new features. Email me and we will look into implementing them. Feel free to let me know of any bugs. We are changing all the software versions tomorrow so I am hoping a few small issues will be worked out. Many thanks for your support of Bimmersport. - Andrew
  5. In short I don't know why. By my count it is three - not half the forum like some abusive texts in the middle of the night say. I have done my best to replicate it and can't see why some people can't access it. There is no setting here or on the server that can stop people from clicking the reply button. If you can't post - and can only do fast reply. Email me at [email protected] with ISP BROWSER OS MODEM/ROUTER TYPE

    Christmas

I also had my work do last night - fairly sure I've destroyed a large portion of my brain and had to drive the turbo to work in the rain in a fairly bad state (Don't worry Gus no dents)
  8. These kinds of threads are unacceptable - it is pure hearsay. Locked
  9. So what is the deal with those wheels? Were they an option? Why does it have the normal M3 facelift wheels.
  10. amazing it didn't sell
  11. Get the stock one tuned - it has fuel/timing maps in it (Assuming your Motronic - if your not then get motronic) Gaving Bellars @ Hi Velocity - does all the work on my cars (and very good work at that) and has seen some great gains of stock ECUs. (09) 4424451
  12. What has broken out of curiosity? I've never seen one broken
  13. Rough price on Bonnets, boots, doors, sidepanels. I'm sure you'd sell a few to us racing people.
  14. A promotional video of the production BMW X6 has hit the web. We are waiting on the official press release and details on the car from BMW. Until then have fun watching the video. Who knows, we may even catch a glimpse of the car at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show next month.
  15. x 2 - don't bother buying a chip for your car. The one in it can be tuned real-time on a dyno for YOUR car and YOUR fuel.
  16. Maybe the race versions would be your cup of tea. Should get you a set to review.
  17. Yes - we have a sydney office also who do very cool work as well.
  18. gay - I want F1 to be an ABOSOLUTE waste of money and large cause of global warming. It should be about stupidly fast cars with jedi skills drivers and heaps of development.
  19. Suit somebody who's looking to get into it. Starting as a runner. Work in a cool environment and for New Zealand's oldest production company Flying Fish (flyingfish.co.nz) Full time posi. PM me for details.
  20. Yep your correct - it is a flywheel estimation. Similar power to the turbo - it IS fun to drive :-D Well done!
