OK so I killed my old espresso machine by not reading the instructions carefully enough while doing a de-scale :-( So might have to 'invest' in a new one. What are people using these days? Old school or those new capsule jobs? Only just started reading reviews etc but appears to be less mess\cleanup with the capsule approach which is a good thing, but not if it tastes crap...

Hard to tell without pictures :-) Can't imagine improving it (manual, engine, LSD) would devalue it.

Is this your first car accident? I've had a couple and it's kinda like going to the casino - the house (insurance company) always wins. I'm not sure insuring for more would have helped you. Though I'm hoping this is wrong I've heard you can over insure, pay the premiums on that value then have the insurance company only pay out their 'book' valuation of your car. Basically the way to look at this is you are going to come out the end with something - if you weren't insured you'd have nothing.

I choose to read that as zero dollars spent... Just so much wow!

That sucks. Bad. I've been in similar straits and I can easily remember the feeling... Only thing I would say is take your time weighing the options so that what happens is what you want. I'm sure you will anyway as you seem to be pretty switched on :-) Believe it or not there are upsides here. For one you didn't destroy your dream - some other 'person' made the fu4k up. The other major up is you didn't get hurt personally so you have time to dream some more.
