HellBM is a company run by Ray (forum sponser) in Silverdale. Worth a trip just to look at all the awesome cars/projects he has if nothing else! Brent runs a parts business called BMWorld - you'll see him a lot in the for sale section of this forum. There's a couple of facebook groups I only just found that people post parts etc in also - search groups for BMW NZ parts and ask for an invite. Don't forget there is a Want to buy section of this forum. Post what you're looking for there and more than likely Ray or Brent will contact you.

End of the day it's your car. You bought it. If it was me I'd give the suspension a refresh, maybe change the brake booster to improve pedal feel and fix anything that was broken and bothered me. Then drive it.

I thought so. I've only driven two briefly. Heavy clutch feel, positive gear changes, good acceleration. I will say they are quite snug. I'm 5'9, 72kgs and I'm ok but I'm not sure if larger people would find it comfortable. Also rather poor visibility all round.

I've seen two of these sell recently for approx. $14k - the black one at Pierce brothers which is still listed but gone and a blue one at a dealers in Penrose. You can buy rubbish from anywhere. Only thing I'd say about Jap imports is price up the radio/gps etc conversion - the cost might make your eyes water!
